Sui Youbi: Emo Emo
Translation for first part: Wednesday

Yeah, I would have posted a lot sooner than this (I actually typed one up Tuesday morning after we got back from Vegas, but then the Interwebs decided to die on me right as I pressed the "add post" button). But things kept getting in the way, and - hold on, I gotta check on the vegetables, then I'll fill you in on what went on during our trip.

Good thing I checked, too. They were boiling quite a bit... most likely they're already done, even. But I've still gotta do the turkey and the - O_O holy crap, what if the - timer went off, gotta go outside to flip the turkey on the BBQ... or watch my mom do it. Either way... *makes like a banana and splits*

Ren: while she's rushing around trying to work on dinner and get this done at the same time, might as well explain the reason for the title on this post. Let's just say her parents were this close to a divorce earlier when her dad was leaving because supposedly CCR and her brother were acting ungrateful and weren't being responsible in doing their part to maintain the cleanliness of the house. The results, a lot of crying and begging the fatman -

"REN!"

Ren: what? You even admit it's true! Anyway, in the end, that was prevented. But CCR almost got sent to live with the Prince of Darkness (her nickname for her biological father, for those who don't know) as well as her brother.... Thus, every time she gets really emotional, she later calls it an "emo moment" after recovering.

CCR: -_- and I was going to try and not explain it in such detail. *sigh* ah well, it would've come out eventually anyway. Just hopefully Dad won't go into my browser history and read this. As it is he dislikes the fact that I blog in the first place and thinks I'm an anime and Internet addict who won't amount to anything. Oh, pasta water's boiling, be right back. *walks to the stove to take care of that*

Ed: she's posting and making dinner at the same time?

Ren: no, I'm doing it. Of course she's posting while making dinner. Besides, her mom's doing a lot of the work with the turkey anyway.

Goku (Saiyuki; also, in the future, the Saiyuki Goku's really the only Goku that shows up in my mini-fics unless stated otherwise): I smell food. How soon are we looking at it getting done?

CCR: the turkey's just about finished according to mom, and so are the vegetables, so all that's left if that pasta. Okay, sicne the box said to let it boil for 8-10 minutes, I'm setting the timer for 9.

Goku: ooh, what kind of veggies are you making to go along with it? Is it the kind that come in the bag or did you use canned vegetables?

CCR: a mix of both. ... and why are we talking about food?

Ed: it's Goku, what do you expect?

CCR: good point. So I probably ought to fill you guys in on what we did on our three-day Vegas vacation.

Zelgadiss: wasn't it mroe like two days, since Friday and Monday were spent driving there and back?

CCR: point taken.

Friday, we spent driving from here to Vegas, though the drive passed by a lot quicker for me since I chose this time to get another DVD in my Slayers Next box set out of the way. When we got to Bob's house, we were greeted by barking dogs and a squaking parrot. No, actually Bob came out first, and I remarked to my brother that he kinda looked like Iroh from Avatar if he were a biker and had a thicker beard. But the beard length was about right for the part.... crap, now I wanna draw Biker!Iroh. Dang art fairies (fairies are responsible for art inspiration, and plot bunnies are for stories, poems and fanfics).

Saturday was our day to explore the Strip on foot. Hold on, dinner's ready, so I'll probably continue this maybe tomorrow. Until next time, ja ne!

EDIT: meh, I figured I'd get out my travel spleal into one post anyway, so now that dinner's done (and no leftovers, surprisingly; gotta go and edit the new meal calendar and add potential meals for nights when we don't have leftovers left.

But anyway, Saturday we mainly only got through a few things: the Mirage, including the dolphins and big cats, including... baby tigers! *fangril squeal* no seriously, whoever wouldn't have been affected by seeing those adorable little things at play... never mind, I can't finish that one effectively. But they also had white lions, a sight I thought I would never see again after the Colorado trip (they had a couple at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, too); the Forum Shops, a new mall extension of Caesar's Palace, and the Venetian. We also went into a mall they have there now called the Fashion Show, but meh.

Sunday, I got to help Carol, Bob's second wife (his first was my dad's late sister, which is how they're related), walk the dogs in the morning, and then after that we all went to help her do arts and crafts with the kids at her church. Upon getting back, I went into the guest room my brother and I were staying in and took a quick nap, to be woken up by my dad later to go drive by the temple with him and Mom (my brother was working on a puzzle and didn't want to go).... and it just so happened that surrounding the temple were a bunch of million-dollar homes since the area offered an excellent view of Vegas. One of the houses was actually designed like an oriental-style building; they even had a Torii in the front to top it all off. Mom and Dad joked that it would be a house that I would likely live in if I had the means. We got home, Dad started to make dinner, and after we ate I took the time to start off the last DVD of Slayers Next in the guest room. I ended up watching the entire DVD, so now I gotta find the boxset for Try somewhere. And our local Suncoast closed down and there's no guarantee Best Buy will have it. Later in the evening, we went and walked downtown until midnight, and then drove through the strip at night.

Monday, we drove home. It felt like forever since I didn't feel like watching Saiyuki, which I had also brought with me, on the car ride home.... and I was still in an artist's block.

Yesterday was mostly spent at Rae's. Simple as that.

And today you already know about to some extent. Brownie points if you actually read this post. Until next time, ja ne!

Kin Youbi: Traveling
Translation for first part: Friday

I would have posted last night, since we're still home, but when I tried to get into the backroom last night so I could post.... it wouldn't even let me past the front page for some reason. And even though that was a bit early anyway, I was told we could be leaving as early as 3 am, so I went to bed at about 8:45 or 9ish.

But yesterday, we kept teeter-tottering between whether we would go or whether we would not go. But, Andrew convinced Dad to let him stay and take care of the dogs, so as a result, we're going. It's incredibly late right now, but what can I say, sometimes adults procrastinate even more than we do. Dad's on the computer when he said he would be taking a shower, Mom's just now packing for the both of them, and it's 9:30 in the morning. Ah well, not much can be done, I guess.

Anyway, fair warning, throughout the week until we come back around Wednesday or so, I might not be able to comment on anything; Mom might just only let me post and that's it. Also, on the myO end of things: unless I decide to login to myO on my mom's laptop, it's likely my myO readers won't be seeing any posts beyond this one until I get back (that's why I only post on my World when I'm at Rae's house or somewhere else of that nature).

Not much else to say, so until my next post, ja ne!

Sui Youbi: Loofa
Translation for first part: Wednesday.

Yeah... ignore the Loofa thing. It's the first thing I could come up with. And speaking of randomness, here's a nice little quote from Saiyuki episode 6:

"DARN IT, HOW DARE YOU! YOU ATE ALL THE COOKIES!"

Right in the middle of a fight scene and Goku's still thinking with his stomach.

Goku (Saiyuki): oh yeah, I remember that. That was when that creep Rikudo showed up, right?

CCR: yep.

But yeah, I finally got to watching some of the anime I actually have on DVD for once today. I'm now officially halfway through Slayers Next because of it, and I've finished the second disk in my Saiyuki box set I bought on impulse last summer back when Suncoast was still open... boy I miss that place. I'm still wondering what they're gonna put in its place... please not another prep-clothing store. We already have Hollister, and that's bad enough as it is... *gags* When we go back-to-school shopping and my mom takes my brother in there to get his clothes, I'm hitting Borders if I'm permitted. For some reason yes, my brother likes Hollister. I fear for his non-prep-ness by the day... I think it's that Stephen kid he's been hanging out with a lot lately.

Ren: as if your mother would let you do that.

CCR: hey, I can dream. And I did add "if I'm permitted."

Speaking of back-to-school, Mom decided to get a whole bunch of the basic school supplies we'll need while we were at Wal-Mart to get dog food... and while we were at it I talked her into not just getting a cat collar for Train (all that's left is a tripped-out tag with "Train Heartnet" engraved on it. >D ... what? I did name him after the Black Cat Train. Yeah, so it would be a good idea to put our family name after that on there too along with the basic contact information, but seriously, he's an outdoor cat to begin with!), but a box full of thumb tacks. Now we've been out of thumb tacks for years, and since I got some posters at Saboten, as well as a Shaman King poster that I got for Christmas years ago but never got to put up because Mom thought it needed a frame, I put them all up tonight. XD;

Ren: and yet you had to pin up that giant birthday card Kyarri and the others made for you a few months back, too.

CCR: what? I've been meaning to do that for a while too.

So yeah, this may or may not be my last post for a while, depending on if we go to Vegas that Uncle Bob has Interwebs access and I'm permitted to at the very least post here, or if we stay home and Dad lets me anywhere near this thing while he's home. Mom said he'd make us all clean the garage if we didn't go on vacation, so despite that giving me only one week before school starts to finish those two box sets mentioned earlier before school, and to go to Rae's house and have a four-to-five day Shaman King marathon so I can get my DVDs back.

Goku: speaking of Rae, isn't she supposed to be back from California today?

CCR: if all went well, she is. But I won't know that for sure until Sunday if we don't go on vacation, next Sunday if we do. *yawn* crap, I still gotta get to dA to check if I have any messages there...

Ren: -_- no, you're going to bed?

CCR: demo nande...? (but why?)

Ren: you just yawned a few seconds ago! And didn't you say you wanted to be up before 10 so you can get a shower in before your stepdad gets home?

CCR: demo... demo... *chibi teary eyes*

Ren: ... the face isn't going to work on me.

CCR: onegai? (Please; more in a begging sense, I've heard)

Ren: -_- fine, but as soon as you finish getting this on myO and doing what you need to do on dA, it's bed time.

CCR: hai! *turns to readers* ja, matta ne!

EDIT:

Thursday, approx. 5 am AZ time

Well, judging from what Dad said on the phone earlier, looks like we are in fact going after all (meaning I get out of the BYC meeting this Sunday! =D ... I'm so bad). And knowing how my dad is, that's a good sign I won't be posting until I get back.

Ren: *walks in* who on Earth left the light - wait, what're you doing up so early?

CCR: I can ask you the same thing. Now does this have any spelling errors ao far that you're aware of? I don't have my glasses on yet so the letters are all blurry unless I squint.

Ren: -_- and what are you doing editing the post this early?

CCR: I heard from Dad; chances are we're going.

Ren: really? What gave you that idea? *knew from the start*

CCR: he said the "p" word.

Ren: piss?

CCR: NO, pack! He said we had to PACK today! So unless we're suddenly moving to Safford a heck of a lot sooner than we first thought (which I would hurt someone if that happend any time before I were to graduate here, from Skyline, with people I actually know) ... Wait, why are you up? Normally I'd only expect to find Zel up brooding on the roof, Allen or Goku getting a late-night snack, or Edo-kun sleepwalking. And before you ask, yes I've seen that happen before, and it was not pretty!

Ren: couldn't sleep.

CCR: please don't say "sleep" right now. I'm still tired as it is even though I'm about to take a shower anyway since Dad's already gotten Mom and I riled up and maybe I'll be able to actually get to bed at a decent time tonight because of it.

Ren: if you're not sleeping in the back of the truck with your DVD player on your lap, you mean?

CCR: for all I know Mom might decide to have my tested for my permit today, I'll probably be driving from the point we hit open road until we get to the dam, and that's only if we go through the dam.

Ren: the dam?

CCR: yeah, Hoover Dam. You went through the Nevada area while looking for Patch Village, didn't you?

Ren: but Hoover Dam, I'm guessing, is over by the Arizona/Nevada border. I don't think we ever crossed that point. Or if we did, I don't remember it.

CCR: that's it, I can't take typing like this any longer! Mom just told me she's bringing her laptop, so maybe I might be able to get on here after all. Until next time, ja ne!

Do Youbi: I am...
TEH MELON LORD!

... Yeah, you can tell I watched the Avatar finale, huh?

Ren: unless they've seen it as well, I somehow doubt they'd get anything from "melon lord."

CCR: oh right, huh...? *shrug* meh, now they do.

I won't go into a major rant like I did on my dA, but yeah, this post will be a bit Avi-centric because I didn't do much else today.

The animation quality... whoah. Honestly it blew me away. And the ending... I honestly saw it coming from the start, even how Aang defeated the Fire Lord down to Zuko's last line: "Where is my mother?"

But the pairings... I'll admit, as a former Zutara supporter, before I would've been a bit bummed. But hey, for once... much as I hate to say it, Maiko actually seemed like it might work. But after some small hints of it evident early in the movie, and even in the Western Air Temple episode to an extent, I might start shipping
TophxZuko
Ren: the series is over; how can you ship a pairing now that the show is OVER?!

CCR: fan art, fanfiction... there are plenty of ways. AU fanfiction I find works the best for that kind of thing. Then you can create so many different scenarios... *evil fangirl grin*

Ren: o.O; ... CCR, you're scaring me.

Ed: I think all of us are scared after seeing that face.

CCR: what? I'm not gonna write a Toko fanfic! I don't have a proper idea for one yet, even if I wanted to write one.

... Okay, I'll just shut my mouth and go now. Until next time, ja ne!

Comment Response for the myO version

xaos - Oh, they've done a kanzenban reprint of Dragonball, too? (They're doing the same with Shaman King right now over in Japan, I hear) I mean, I suppose it's no surprise, just the picture caught me off-guard since I hadn't seen anything quite like it before.... funny thing is Trunks (or what looked like Trunks; he was in the far right corner) almost resembled Takuto from Full Moon o Sagashite in that drawing. Must be the style. ^^;

Kin Youbi/Do Youbi: Kane
Translation - Friday: Money (at least I think that's what the last part is)

Scholarships... are a lot harder to find than you'd think. Yet some are ridiculously easy to come across and the requirements are almost nil. But as a result, I've got one essay to write on some humanitarian subject, for which I'll probably take a lot of material from my mini-essay I had to write for American Lit last year that I think might work nicely. Thing is I don't necessarily know the definition of humanism as stated in the Humanist, the magazine that's sponsoring that particular scholarship program. And also, I've done three illustrations for one and may write a story for the partner program to that. It's done on a quarterly basis, so I'll probably have to send in the drawings at a later time and do the story now or vice versa. The drawings are done, but the story isn't unless I were to use the first few chapters of Kitsune Assassin Yuki or Sky, most likely the latter since they're looking for sci-fi or fantasy, and I suppose Sky fits the bill a little better. Not sure how they'll handle the religious references in the first chapter or so, though. ... Never mind, I'll just write a whole new story entirely when I'm bored and have nothing else to do.

Ren: didn't you say you were going to sign up for SATs and ACTs today, too?

CCR: ... oh right, I forgot. CRAP! *sigh* ah well, guess that'll keep me occupied somewhat tomorrow along with more continuous scholarship-hunting, and I think I'll actually start filling out applications tomorrow too...

Oh right, for why I'm acting this way. Simply put, last night after I finished my post, Dad called to have family prayer. Afterwards, he called my cell phone and decided to chew me out since I was going at my own pace to get that second semester in through the Distance Learning program so I can graduate on time. At the end of his chewing my butt out, he said he expected a list of scholarships I could apply for to be set in front of him when he gets home from work next week before we leave for Vegas. So, after that I went on scholarships.com, and this is how everything started.

Today, I got up, had to fill out everything for scholarships.com AGAIN because before I made a typo on my e-mail address, got access to the list again, did the three illustrations for the one thing and, after figuring out the other, which I'd blown off before, was a short story competition, looked into that. But then I got bored, came back here to chat for a bit, then went to dA, and then scanned and submitted my drawings for the week there. Afterwards, came back here, uploaded the SoulxMaka pic I drew yesterday and this week's Randomosity. The rest were original characters and wouldn't have gotten much attention here anyway, so they're on my dA (and for those who want to check them out, my ussername there is Usagi-Asakura).

Ren: so the only highlight of your day was frantically searching for scholarships after your stepfather verbally lit a fire under your butt?

CCR: basically. *sigh* hackerblackrose, Im starting to agree with you. School needs to staaaarrrrt. Even though I won't have my drawing classes like I signed up for, at least I'll be able to DO something with Beginning Jewlery... and Culinary Arts, and choir. And the victory of the fact that I chose not to take Trig, before College Algebra bites me in the butt a couple years from now and I have to get tutoring to help.... o.O;

Goku (Saiyuki): ne, CCR, why'd the living room fan start making a tune?

CCR: I don't know... I think that's a sign it might fall soon, or it's going too fast; but that was freaky how it sounded like the sounds were forming an actual tune there for a minute. *walks to the living room from the kitchen to turn off the cieling fan* There, now we don't have to worry about it coming crashing down onto the carpet, even though no one's in there right now.

... seriously, if nothing aside from SAT sign-ups happens tomorrow, I'm writing a mini-fic just to get my wit back in order. But for right now, I need sleep. Until next time, ja ne!

EDIT: my sincerest apologies for not updating myO lately... I've either had to post from Rae's house, or my Interwebs was dead for days on end, preventing me from posting here OR on my World, so on and so forth. But yeah, I'm back now. Or I'll try to keep the balance with both sites, anyway... been considering switching to just myO, but... the comment reply feature is so niiiiiiiccceeee! XD; Meh, I'll just keep using both.

Sui Youbi: Shipping
Yeah, it's official. After watching episodes 7-9, there's nothing that's unconverting me from supporting the SoulxMaka pairing.

BUT! That aside, for once I will try not to center this post around Soul Eater.

So I went to Rae's, the usual, right? Pretty much. Finished all three of the drawings I've done recently and got this week's Randomosity comic started (IT'S A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE! =D not really, but since there wasn't a comic the past couple weeks it seems like it). I also was volunteered into babysitting for the women in our ward while they had their Enrichment night. I'm guessing it's so the most people can come, they usually have free babysitting services during these things in the nursery. It was only an hour and a half, so it wasn't that bad, but I was really hungry half the time until Kana came over with what was left of the cinnamon graham crackers and frosting the kids were snacking on. Frosting-covered graham crackers... do the people who scheduled the activities to keep the kids occupied, including the snack time, realize what heck the parents will have to go through tonight putting those kids to bed?! What was interesting was that after I had taken my wooden sandals off (had to wear them because I didn't feel like putting on my tennis shoes after getting my regular flip-flops wet from feeding and watering the dogs), this little girl randomly came up to me and said, "I feel taller now. :D" I look down and she's wearing the sandals. I asked her why, and her response was this: "... I don't really know." It was kinda cute, but at the same time odd.

And speaking of kids, apparently Rae's sister Shana (not her real name, but it's close enough to her nickname) is a master of "Glomp-Fu." And starting yesterday I made the mistake of introducing her to Shaman King. But you'll see some of the results so far of that in this week's Randomosity. After that I really hope if she ever comes to a con with us she doesn't randomly declare on seeing something Shaman King-related with Ren on it, "Look, it's your boyfriend!" -_-; that girl will learn her fandom etiquette someday, or I fear for her life, sanity, and reputation... at least on sites like theO and Gaia. But then I was only a little older than her when I started in the fandom, and as I say it, we were all n00bs once, just some more than others.

Okay, Im'a going to bed now. Until next time, ja ne!

Getsu Youbi: Tamashii
Translation - Monday: Soul

geh... proof I've been watching too much Soul Eater... or D. Gray-Man... or Shaman King. Maybe all three (even though the other two I only read the manga now)

But yeah, not much today. Actually started a drawing, went to Rae's for a bit (what else is new?), and speaking of which... we randomly started writing a very random RP-convo on an electric typewriter that her dad apparently bought while he was on his mission. Wait, or was that the other one?

Ren: I think it was the non-electrical one.

CCR: yeah, you're probably right.

As for the rest of my day after that, again, not much. I could go into a random Soul Eater rant, but meh.

Although I would like to know more about this Stein guy they mentioned towards the end of episode 4. Is the guy supposed to be the main villain or something? People on Gaia have been saying that he's one of their favorite chara - but then the same things have been said regarding just about every member of the Noah clan in D. Gray-Man and the Akatsuki in Naruto. Just how do the villains sometimes come off as so likeable to the fans, I wonder? (Although I admit I share some of the same opinions on the first two groups mentioned)

So the first three episodes were a prologue, ne? Well, I guess I could see that as introduction of character. But episode 3 cracked me up yet at the same time almost freaked me out to an extent. Seriously, I'd heard Death the Kid had some form of OCD, but when it's to the point where he almost let himself get killed by that Pharaoh because the sarcophagus it was fighting from was in perfect symmetry, that's kinda sad. And what’s worse is that I kinda went into a “WTF? No, he can’t die yet! They barely introduced the guy!” If he actually had died, I might have possibly cried even. Sad,. I know. Ack, these spoilers must be really annoying to those reading my posts that are considering watching the series. *sigh* ah well, guess I'll have to put a spoiler warning up here later on.

Speaking of spoilers, I found a scary, supposedly fake spoiler for the latest Twilight book, Breaking Dawn. Thankfully though many have stated it's fake. But still, if Jacob had done anything to Edward whatsoever... he'd be on my hit-list just like Nichrome already is for the fact that as far as I know he kills Ren the first time in the Shaman King manga (his second killer will definitely be put on my hit list too when I find out who it is, believe me).

.... Okay, now I'm starting a hit list of fictional characters I dislike? Now if nothing else that I do is pathetic, that most certainly is, no denying that.

... Gah, episode 5 STILL isn't done?! Dang it!

Ren: impatient much?

CCR: what can I say? This is a good anime, one of the best I've seen in a long time, especially considering I'm planning on following the fansubs until the anime or the manga hits the US, whichever comes first (likely the manga... but I hear the art for the manga up until chapter 20 or so is kinda iffy. But then one can say the exact same thing about Shaman King as well. Guess with a long-running manga series the manga-ka's artistic development and improvement is seen with every volume. But Takei's was very gradual, needless to say...)

Goku (Saiyuki): say, since you don't eat them much anyway and your brother supposedly hates them, is it alright if I just heat up some of these burritos in the fridge?

CCR: sure, go ahead. The sooner they're gone and we get the kind that he supposedly likes, the sooner he'll shut up and eat the next batch we buy unless those are "nasty" too. Even though the kind dad bought this time is the exact same flipping burrito! I tasted it earlier this evening, there is NOTHING wrong with it except the high calorie count that often comes with microwave food.

Goku: sweet!

Ed: is that all he does anymore?

CCR: what can I say, one of these days I need to just write out another mini-fic instead of rant about the anime I watch and maybe my wit and originality will come back then.

Ren: or you can finally write chapter 6 of Sky.

CCR: don't remind me.

Oh, I almost forgot! Mom mentioned that sometime later this month we're supposedly all going on a family vacation. She says Dad wants to go to Vegas to see Uncle Bob, one of many extended family members on my stepfather's side of the family... kinda sad that I know them better than the extended family on my biological father's side. Reason I don't mention my mom's side is because she's an only child; but Mom mentioned that she might talk him into going through Utah as well. That would be nice in my opinion. I've only seen the southernmost part of the state, and Mom said that she wanted to take him to Salt Lake City. She's been, but I haven't. Aside from Colorado again, or Alaska, that sounds like my kind of family road trip. ^^

Ren: great, just what we need, a visit to the Mormon capital of the world.

CCR: you act like it's a bad thing.

Ren: it doesn't really interest me that much. Sure, there's the architecture and the history, but then that's not my thing either.

CCR: well, I suppose there's always upsides and downsides to any tourist destination. *checks the progress on the episode* dang, not even half done yet.

Well, I guess I'm off to Gaia for now to kill time while waiting for the episode to finish loading, or at least load enough that I can watch it all the way through. Until next time, ja ne!

Comment Response Theatre~!

Ren: -_- again with the funky titles...

CCR: what, I like jazzing it up a little!

Anyway, in response to A13's comment - yeah, I think you really would like Slayers. It's pretty old, so finding subs for it will be hard, almost impossible even, and the DVDs as it is are hard enough for me to track down (though FUNimation apparently is re-releasing the DVD boxsets for the original 3 seasons. Wonder if that means they'll get the rights to the fourth season that just started recently too...). I'd also recommend Soul Eater as well, despite all the spoilers I have already blurted out here... ^^; both series are good, really.

Nichi Youbi: Dragon Slave!
Just to tell ya, Dragon Slave is a spell from Slayers.

Good thing number one: RAE'S BACK!!!! ^__^ So I won't be as bored the rest of the summer and may actually get some drawing done.

Other than that, after I got home I actually got off my butt and finished disk one of my Slayers Next box set, and got about halfway into disk 2. What? It's 6-7 episodes a disk! CPM stuffed the DVDs pretty good back when anime just started to be released on DVD (I'm guessing that's how old the box set is. And I know it's not a bootleg box set because it had CPM's freakin' company name on it and a dub track! Not to mention Slayers, or at least the first three seasons, is a pretty old series). I must say though, from the episodes I watched, I feel bad for Zel. I can tell he puts up with a lot more abuse via Lina aside from the dragon cuisone episode (I mean, come on! So what if his body is made out of rock; go ahead and use that as an excuse for using him as the anchor since the chef didn't bring one on the ship. "Too busy getting dragon-hunting gear."). But then I'm probably biased because I'm more or less a Zelgadiss fangirl... which is also why I'm a tad peeved at the ZelxAmelia references in the anime so far. And from what I've read it gets worse. Come on! So far from what I've read in the books Zel hasn't even met Amelia yet (has he? I gotta read book 5 again), and since the anime just deviates into its own plot using elements and story arcs from the books and switching them around a little, I heard once somewhere that the producers for the original seasons of the anime just went off and decided that ZelMelia would be a good pairing and almost canonized it to a degree. But then this could also be because I'm a jealous Zel fangirl as well, but personally... to me the pairing just seems too OOC. Rae and Kana agree with me on this too, except they've only read the books and haven't seen much if any of the anime so far. Dang it, why won't you two actually log on for once in your lives on theO and support me here?! Ah well, if nothing else at least Rae drops by every now and then.

Well, episode 2 of Soul Eater is probably done loading now - I know, I'm watching fansubs, shame on me. But ya know what, so far with Soul Eater I'm justified 'cause it's not out in the US yet and for this one I'm too impatient to wait for it. I finished the first episode and actually enjoyed it. And if I like it that much, hopefully when it does come out I'll get off my butt and buy the DVDs. That reminds me, I still gotta get the Haruhi DVDs and, technically now, the Lucky Star DVDs too. Next con I go to I'll look into that. Or next time I get a chance to go to Best Buy, one or the other. Dang, why did Suncoast have to shut down, whyyyyyyy?! So I better go now. Until next time, ja ne!

Do Youbi: Etcetera Etcetera Etcetera
Meh, forgive me for the title. Mom had us sit through the first half of the original musical version of The King and I (not the cartoon version or the more recent non-musical adaptation, Anna and the King), so I have songs like "Getting to Know You" and "Shall we Dance?" running through my head while I type this.

And speaking of which, a random quote from the movie, just because I got a kick out of it:

"Never mind; British aren't scientific enough to use chopsticks."

Goku (Saiyuki): if using chopsticks is a science, then call me a self-proclaimed expert in chopstickology!

.... *crickets chirping*

Goku: ._. what?

Ed: that was supposed to be a joke?

Goku: well, yeah... never mind, I'll shut up now. Speaking of which, it's been a week right? Shouldn't Ren be coming back soon -

"And that's any of your concern why?"

CCR: REN-REN! *tackleglomp*

Ren: -///////O; what the heck?!

Ed: be warned, she's a bit dazed/hyper/out of it right now. Her mom made her sit through the first half of The King and I.

Ren: you're talking about the original, right?

Ed: *sarcastically* no, we got the VCR working and found the video for the cartoon. Her mom rented the original. *hands Ren the DVD case*

Ren: -_- great, at this rate she'll be singing to more than just Phantom of the Opera at her heights of boredom.

Ed: I think it's a bit late for that... *points to CCR, who is at this point "dancing" around the kitchen humming and singing parts of "Shall we Dance?"*

Rne: *facepalm* just my luck to come back to find this place an insane asylum.

CCR: wait, wha? I'm not insane. I may be a bit forgetful and/or ditzy at times, but insane? Oh wait... never mind, all my sanity that was left before I went to Skyline is gone thanks to my friends.

Ed: oh yeah, she also got sunburn pretty badly yesterday too, so that might also be a contributing factor.

Ren: lovely.

CCR: okay, I’m sane again… or what some people might call sane. So Ren-kun, how was the reunion?

Ren: stupid, as usual… and why do you suddenly ask me about these things? You never asked in years past!

CCR: I don’t know, did I?

Ren: *facepalm … again* look, it’s getting late, maybe it’s about time you head for bed.

CCR: yeah, that’s probably a good idea. My brain is turned to mush even worse than it usually is after watching a Disney movie… and I didn’t think I’d get much nostalgia from that considering, but dang! Turns out the cartoon used a few of the songs from the original! *sigh* okay, enough of my ranting. Until next time, ja ne!

Kin Youbi: Inochi
Translation - Friday: Life

Goku: liberty, and the pursuit of happiness!! =D

CCR: ... not quite what I was looking for, but alright. It's the 4th of July still (if only for 20 minutes... gotta break this staying-up-late habit of mine!), so it works.

But for once this summer, something actually happened! Well that's not entirely true since there's been Saboten-Con, Girls' Camp, Tawny's birthday party, countless hours sharing my boredom with Rae and working on that long-as-heck Randomosity omake (speaking of which, no comic again this week - sorry! Next week I'll at least try to stay lazy yet still be bothered to draw. Plus Rae will be back by then too, and something as far as my drawing always gets done when I'm over there for some reason or other.). But something other than those things!

Speaking of which, although I didn't get your comment until after I got back, yes Tsubasa, Mom kept us pret-ty hydrated. Such things are when having a family member in the medical profession helps 'cause they think of those things. I may have my shoulders sun burnt pretty badly, but it's happened before.

Ed: ... and you could've just used the comment reply.

CCR: I know, but I figured I was a bit late this time for that.

Anyway, my day actually started out rather... interesting. Well first there was my dream last night. Crazy, weird, and partially because of it and due to other things I had Prince Ali from Aladdin stuck in my head a lot of the day. I won't go into detail because I hardly remember it anyway.

Once I finally woke up and everyone was ready, we picked up Kana and drove out to Sunsplash. Security's really tightened up in that place now... they're searching your bags before they let you in! o.o What, did someone try to blow up the park or get drunk off their butt despite their no-alcohol rule or something?!

And to other Arizonans reading this who have been to Sunsplash recently *coughKYARRIcough* no, I didn't go on the Cauldron, or as I now call it, the toilet. 'Cause that's basically what it is. You go down a slide into a 9-foot bowl that you slide along the edges of as if being flushed down a toilet. Actually, I only went on one, no make that two slides. But the second one doesn't count 'cause it was the one in the kiddie area. We (as in me, Kana, and my mom - the boys were off being daredevils and going on all sorts of rides) mainly hung out in the wave pool and the lazy river the entire time.

Then we went home, I realized I had sunburn, and Mom took my brother to pick up flags for our church fundraiser we do every year (we put up flags at peoples' houses every national holiday for a certain fee). She later came home with a pizza from Hungry Howie's and... movies. One of which was The West Side Story, which is the one we watched tonight. Long movie, could totally see everything that was coming since it was based on Romeo and Juliet, but still good.
Except I thought for sure Maria was going to shoot herself after taking the gun that killed Tony from Chino, I really did. But she didn't.
But her line at the end sounded oddly familiar to me for some reason (early Naruto episodes, anyone?)

"You killed them with your hate! Now I can kill too, because I have hate!"

Well, that was likely not the exact quote, but it's pretty darn close.

.... And I gotta go to bed now. Until next time, ja ne... *falls asleep, but her head narrowly misses the keyboard*

Ed: *pokes CCR with a stick as usual when this happens* you still gotta post this on myO too, remember?

CCR: *wakes up* oh right, huh...?
