Of Birthdays and Easter Testimonies
But first, a YouTube video. Because this song is just… yeah. Those who’ve read the Osorezan Arc of Shaman King might appreciate it more though considering the lyrics are Matamune’s poem.

Other than that, well… my birthday so far has been more spiritual than anything – and considering it’s both Easter/Resurrection Sunday AND General Conference this weekend as well, that could be a very good thing. … even though I overslept and missed part of the Sunday morning session. TT^TT ah well, there’s next month’s Ensign to look forward to; it’ll have all of the talks in there so I can read the ones I missed.

So since my last post through the DSi (and this post is typed on my laptop, by the way; I’m gonna try to avoid the DS as much as possible today in observance of the Sabbath) I’ve beat Falkner in Soul Silver, and last night I took a whack at Pearl again as well (my second play-through of that game even though I should’ve beaten the Elite 4 in the first playthrough before I restarted. >.>; ), and beat Crasher Wake easily. Yet Falkner took me THREE TIMES to beat (that dang Pidgeotto…). But then with fighting Crasher Wake I had two electric Poke’mon – the closest thing I have that’s particularly strong against flying types was the Onix I got in a trade… and trained to level 11, only to find out at that level it wouldn’t obey me anymore. So I had to level up all of my other Poke’mon to level 13 and go confront him head-on.

Today, though… today I’m just going to watch the last Conference session in a few minutes here and nibble at my chocolate bunny I got from Mom for Easter (no cake for this birthday, it looks like – but I’m going to dinner with my grandparents tomorrow, so who knows? :D maybe they’ll take me to Carrabba’s, the best Italian grill EVER). And then after that I’ll probably read from the New Testament, particularly the gospel accounts of the Resurrection (I’m already at the point of Christ’s visit in 3rd Nephi as for my BoM studies).

And speaking of which, I suppose now would be an appropriate time for a testimony – one better worded I hope than the one I bore in my post following President Hinckley’s passing a few years ago. Those who aren’t religious don’t have to read the following text. I’ll have a “/soapbox” tag at the end of it if I even have time to type anything after that before the afternoon session starts.

I know that Christ lives – that He atoned for our sins on the cross so many years ago, and rose on the third day. He will come again, as is prophesied by both ancient and modern prophets. I believe that the gospel has been restored in this dispensation, that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church, at least to my knowledge; from this I try not to waver, but then we all stumble sometimes. After all, if we were perfect, we wouldn’t need the Atonement. I believe in the plan of salvation and that we as human beings are the children of our Father in Heaven, who loves us in spite of our flaws, and has prepared a way that we might return to Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. I believe that He still gives revelation to humanity, and that the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the Church are ordained of Him. I testify of these things in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, amen.
/soapbox

Now if only I could go up and bear my testimony like that in a fast & testimony meeting. ^^; Heck, if I can blog it, I can proclaim it in front of a congregation, right?

And now I have ten minutes before the Sunday afternoon session of Conference starts. So until next time, ja ne!

Yet Again, I'm Up Way Too Late
This time though, it was a justifiable excuse… sort of. If you count “I slept until almost noon and didn’t get started on my math homework until around 5:30 or 6” as a justifiable excuse.

I won’t get into what happened before that point, because there really wasn’t much. I was just playing around when I should’ve been working on homework. I’m all caught up now, and (hopefully) ready to take the test on Thursday. … and then afterwards probably bust my tail on watching the first two chapter 5 videos and taking that pre-test BEFORE Friday. Or at the very least before Saturday. I can’t work on homework Saturday OR Sunday, at least a large chunk of those days, because General Conference is on those days. And last time, in October… man, I spaced out SO BAD during all of the sessions – I think I even slept through most of the Sunday morning session.

This year, be it required by any entity or not, I’m taking notes. Will probably type them because it’s my belief that I type faster than I write by hand, but either way, I will take notes in some way, shape, or form.

… Wait, why am I rambling about Conference of all things? The only people who might even possibly read this who may have even a glimmer of what I’m talking about are Refi (tiggerola) and Rae (silvervampiress). *yawn* and I’m getting tired anyway, so I better be headed to bed. Until next time (when hopefully I’ll have something interesting to say), ja ne!

Spring Cleaning~ Spring Cleaning~
It’s a sick disgusting job – it’s a sick disgusting job~ but it’s gotta get done.

… Wow. Just wow. I haven’t seen Rocco’s Modern Life in HOW long and I somehow pulled that out of my head. (but then I did watch a Veoh video of that episode… >.> )

Wait a sec, does anyone who reads this even remember that show?! XD; way to go, making myself feel old.

But yeah, that pretty much sums up the latter part of my day. Eariler part was spent watching Phineas and Ferb, hanging out at Rae’s for only a tiny bit before they had to go to the General Young Womens’ Broadcast (were I a year younger I would have gone myself), so I came home, and fearing that I would be bored to tears like I pretty much was on Friday after finishing my homework, I went into mass cleaning mode on my room. Granted, it needed to be done anyway, since the plastic-and-metal makeshift closet I had for all of my cosplay stuff and some of my formal dresses started to collapse, so I had to tear it down (I’m keeping the metal poles in case I need them for something in the future), throw out the plastic part, and then sweep/vaccum/somehow get rid of all the trash and mouse droppings that was at the bottom of and underneath that thing.

And then after clearing nearly everything out of there except what was in the permanent closet – ooh, Mom brought in M&Ms! *grabs a small handful* Anyway, as I was saying, I decided to move my bed to another side of the room where the plastic closet used to be to make my room look more spacious (before it was on the same side as the door, so you would walk in and right to your right would be the foot of the bed.) There’s still some of my stuff in the hallway – including a suitcase and an office chair (the “spinny” kind). But dang it, I’m tired. So that’ll wait until tomorrow before and/or after church. Hopefully though I’ll be able to stay up long enough to do that… I typically come home from church pretty tired. ^^;

Although… I have been feeling pretty “eh” lately. I don’t entirely know why, but maybe it’s because of my lack of friends at school. Sure, I have Kyarri, but while we go to the same school, we don’t exactly go to school together anymore – not even on campus at the same time. And there’s Mom, but… ^^; well, much as I love her and insist that she doesn’t embarrass me (and both are true, I’m not embarrassed by my mom at all), but other than that, none. I know next to nothing about my classmates, and as far as I know, have nothing in common with them (although I think one or two people in my math class graduated from the same high school I did, but that’s it). Closest thing to a friend I have is Kimmi, but there’s no common ground there, really. We just happen to have three classes together, and have had some brief conversations before one of our classes… okay, make that one. And it was about a gerbil that she needed to get rid of. >.>; but you see my point?

Or it’s just me being anti-social/socially awkward/otherwise socially inept. Either way though, something’s gotta change. I’m not sure I can stand it anymore…

And this feels like a weird ending for a post, but I seriously am not sure what else to type. Until next time, ja ne~!

Five Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand Six Hundred Minutes~
Five Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand Six Hundred Minutes~
How do you measure, measure a year?

… no, I have never seen Rent. The song just comes up periodically on my Pandora station. Don’t judge me.

So yeah, on to business. As of yesterday, we’re… still behind in math. Orz. But after class… that’s when the interesting stuff happened.

There was a bird nesting in the Student Lounge, just sitting there on a high shelf. But one of the guys that sits at the main table on Wednesdays chased it away. Ah well, I guess it had to be done. Then after I did my math homework I was working on a drawing in Photoshop (though I had just finished a traditional coloring of the same drawing. >.>; )… and my World Religion professor walked in and just watched me draw. It was awkward… to illustrate, this is sort of how it went:

“Hey *insert my real name here*, what’re you doing?”
“>.>; um… working on a drawing.”
“Oh, cool. I’ve seen one of those [the tablet] years ago, but it didn’t work too well back then. I guess they work better now.”
“Yeah… *feeling really awkward*”
“… That looks anime-ish.”
“Yeah, it is.”
“Are you otaku?”
“*not sure how to answer* uh… sort of, yeah.”
“Oh; I have a few friends who are otaku… *he goes on to describe a Chinese friend of his who is majoring in Japanese*”
“…. O.o;;;”
“You’re coming to class today, right?”
“uh… yeah…”
“Okay, just making sure.”

And until I started taking this class, I thought my Sociology professor from last semester was eccentric. (I know, I know. “Welcome to college.”)

… At least he didn’t recognize I was drawing Russia. XD if he knew about Hetalia, he’d probably ask if I liked yaoi too. (and for the record, no, I don’t like yaoi… al-though… SuFin has brought me dangerously close to making an exception. If only Tino were a girl, dang it! *shot*)

And then when I actually went to class, I found out we were skipping Confucianism and Shinto and going straight to Judaism (I asked the prof. about it, and he said that we were falling behind so he skipped it). It’s funny though, how as he kept reading through the Creation story in Genesis people in the class (myself included) kept addressing some Christian interpretations of some aspects of it – to the point he kept having to remind us that we’re still on Judaism. XD that class… almost as fun as Sociology was, let me tell ya.

Then in Mass Communications we went over the criteria for our research paper… which I should be researching for right now, but after only one query on Academic OneFile I’ve decided to hold off until Monday. *lazy* It doesn’t help my work ethic that this thing isn’t due until the second to last day of the class. And, also because it’s just plain easier to access the school databases while on-campus than off.

… But I am SO relieved that my Com100 class is over! It makes my Wednesdays so easier, believe me.

So far, no plans for today other than vegging around, maaaaybe I’ll go over to Rae’s after she and Shana get back from school – provided that they and their siblings finish their homework. But knowing Rae’s habit of procrastinating and how T is… I almost doubt it.

I guess that’s it for today. Until next time, ja ne~!

The Times, They Are A-Changin'
Random title is random… although it does fit with what I woke up to this morning.

I got up, and my mom was watching the signing of the new Health Care Bill. While I will say there are, without a doubt, some positive aspects to it, others bring up some strong emotions that it might be best not to discuss here because I know it would end in a comment-war (despite the fact that I don’t get comments on a normal basis anymore)

So other than that, let’s backtrack a bit, shall we?

Saturday – got up and finished my homework (or was I checking my e-mail…?), then went over to Rae’s house and spent the rest of the day there.

Sunday – my second week working in nursery. Again, not as bad as I thought it would be, but I still feel awkward around children under the age of 5. But hopefully that’ll slowly ebb away as I spend more time in this calling/maybe that’s why I have the calling in the first place.

Monday – back to school again… Math was relatively easy, though we’re still two lessons behind according to the prof; World Religions was interesting (and it’s now in my Shaman King headcanon that Yoh is at least somewhat Daoist – at least on a philosophical level). And in Mass Communications, we analyzed various TV commercials. No funny ones, though, just… a lot of sports-related/endorsed ones. Then much of the time after school that I THOUGHT was going to go towards working on math homework was instead spent freaking out over the fact that my second closet had collapsed in my room… so I had to move everything that was in there onto my bed – at least for the time being.

But today, I did finish my math homework! :D Then Mom and I went shopping for some stuff we needed around the house (and Mom bought me Botan rice candy. ^^ it was nummy… yes, nummy is a word. Because I say it is), and afterwards we went and saw Alice in Wonderland together (even though I had already seen it with Kyarri, but I didn’t mind seeing it twice). Then we came home and ate some sandwiches we got from Subway.

… And right now, Mom’s watching a show called I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant. It… certainly is weird. Mom doesn’t believe that it’s possible to not know about a pregnancy though, so she’s criticizing the show the entire time. O.o; weird.

Well, I think I’ll work on some drawings I scanned earlier this evening, or go to bed (which I probably need to do). Until next time, ja ne!

Finish it With a Bang!
If you consider the second weekend thereof, then my Spring Break is over.

But man, did it really end with a bang.

Kyarri came at around 8 with her brother, and after scrambling to put my stuff together (I overslept… again. =A=; gotta stop doing that), we ate breakfast at Village Inn and then drove out to the Arboretum, paid the fee, found a parking spot, and hiked the high trail!
It was just amazing – I think I might still prefer more forest-y type of scenery like what can here be found at the Mogollon Rim/Strawberry/that general area, but the desert is beautiful too in its own way. And there was a stream that you could see from the higher parts of the trail andand-

Ren: calm down already.

CCR: fine.

Oh! But I saw a cardinal bird for the first time… from a distance, but I still saw it. XD two of them actually – what’s embarrassing though is that I initially thought they were parrots.

So after the hike we drove back to Kyarri’s house to drop her brother off, and we went to get pedicures; then later went to hang out with Sora until I had to come home and feed the dogs because my brother didn’t do so before he went on his campout this weekend. Ah well, I needed to come back and finish my homework anyway – which I did! :D

… And I have some other good news as well.

I have to wait until closer to my birthday (probably the day after during and/or after the little family-exclusive party with my mom and my grandparents), but…
I think I’m getting Soul Silver. AND a new DS (maybe a DSi… ooooo). Tried talking my mom into buying it last night, but she told me to wait until my actual birthday, which isn’t too far off anyway (happens to land on Easter this year, in fact). Well, that and she wants to see if she can get the DS cheaper on eBay. I just hope the game itself is still available by then… >.>; and/or that I’ll even have time to play it, what with school starting back up.

Other than that, though, that’s all I’ve got. Until next time, ja ne~!

Well, I Can't Say Spring Break Hasn't Been Eventful...
To summarize…

Monday – mostly spent here at home, what with me doing Dad’s laundry (and he said he’d pay me for it, even, but that ended up not happening. Guess it was because I didn’t finish the job), and other stuff that prevented me from going over to Rae’s house until late in the afternoon. Ended up spending the night there…. Again. Which is why I haven’t posted sooner (my laptop can’t get Internet there because their connection isn’t Wi-Fi and there are no open Wi-Fi connections in that general vicinity). Although Shana’s friend Haruhi was there too and Rae and I got started on a dual-meme.

Tuesday – worked on the meme some more, went to the movies at the local dollar theater, explored Borders a little bit – came home for dinner and to do homework while the others were at mutual, went back there. Spent the night again.

Wednesday – got up and had to make a quick run home so Kyarri could come over and pick up my boots. Went back to Rae’s house, ultimately finished my half of the meme, watched Baptists At Our BBQ… which while it had its moments (which inspired some fanfic-stuff with my state-tans, so that’s sort of good), it wasn’t at all what I expected. Later that night went with Kyarri to see Alice in Wonderland. I think now I’ll make it a habit to think of at least 6 impossible things before breakfast… XD; today I actually came up with about 14 or 15, but I got a head start ‘cause I took a shower before I ate.

And today, I am home working on some of the homework that my math professor was so cruel as to assign us (although I’m almost done, and it’s mostly videos and taking notes thereon anyway – I just have one video exercise left and then the pre-test for chapter 4, which I can take any time between today and Sunday night, so depending on what happens I may take it Saturday morning before I head over to Rae’s… if I’m allowed over there at all. Today I’m banned because both Rae and T have been procrastinating on homework, and while Rae keeps insisting to me it’s not, I still feel responsible for that – and their dad feels I’m a major factor too.

Last night when Rae texted me with the news, I thought, no big deal, I can take that time to do my own homework and maybe have a girls’ day out with my mom since she’s off, right? … right on the first part, but waking my mom up today is one of those “impossible things” I thought of that is truly seeming to be, well, impossible. This, people, is why Type 2 Bipolar Disorder sucks. Big time. It turns my mom into the living dead, often whether or not she takes her meds.

So while whittling away at doing my homework, I’m reading discussions on the Hetalia LJ comm. when I can find them, typing this post, lamenting the fact that I left my sketchbook at Rae’s house and can’t go retrieve it seeing as it’s a “friendless day” over there today, and reminding myself that I have to reply to a PM on ff.net from my new Swedish friend.

Yes, the fact that she’s Swedish is worthy of noting. Most of my international friends in the past have been from Canada, Singapore, or Australia/New Zealand (this isn’t counting those I RP with necessarily as much as those I actually talk to out of character).
Gosh, I sound like such a stereotypically ignorant/stupid American right now, aren’t I? XD

… wow, this defrag is taking forever. But then that’s probably because I’ve still got programs open while that’s going on.

So yeah, that’s all I’ve really got so far this week. Might be going to bed early tonight seeing as Kyarri’s wanting to get up early tomorrow and go to Arboretum (it’s supposedly a hiking trail/nature area near Superior), since we decided Sedona would be too crowded during Spring Break. But as long as we’re getting out of the city, fine by us. :D So until next time, ja ne~!

It's Been a While, Huh?
...And I REALLY gotta replace the background image. Same with my World, too.

but anyway, it has been a while. I keep updating my World but not myO. It was mainly to shake my dad off (wasn't sure if he still read these posts or not, but still), though he's more interested in stalking Andrew's facebook now. So probably starting with my next World post I'll be updating here again as well, for those who care to listen.
Though right now it's 2 am and Dad's home - he doesn't take too kindly to sleeping in, so I'll be dead in the morning. Until next time, ja ne~!

FIIIIVE GOL~DEN RIIIIINGS~!
Four calling birds, three French hens, and a partridge Gilbird in a pear tree~!

Ren: … it’s a few days early for that, isn’t it?

CCR: don’t make me bring up Switzerland’s MKC…

Ren: -_- what does that have to do with anything?

CCR: never mind. XD

So…. Been a while, I guess? I guess with me updating not-so-often-anymore I’m more… eh… “normal” by otaku standards compared to when I posted almost daily? *checks* O_o wow, it’s been almost ten days since I last posted! Let’s see, what’s happened since then…

Well, I got my grades. All A’s except for math. Which I got a B+ in. And I got my schedule sorted out, so next semester I’m taking Math 151 (even though I really do need only 141/142… ah well, that’s just by the ASU standards. BYU will probably want me to have 151), Intro to Mass Communications, Communications (in general), and World Religions. In total, 13 credits. At this rate I don’t see me getting my associates in 2 years unless my scholarship covers summer courses. In which case I’d probably have to take two this summer to make up for it.

Ed: do I need to borrow Hungary’s frying pan?

CCR: no… why?

Ed: because you’re being overly negative again.

CCR: no, I’m just stating the facts: I’ll probably have to just take whatever credits I have and apply for BYU… I may be one of those people who takes 6 years to get a 4-year degree. Unless I get married before I complete my degree – and don’t go saying I’m too young. Well, in some ways I am, but still…

But we did go back to Arizona Mills this week – yesterday/Thursday, to be exact – and this time I knew far enough in advance that I was able to get $20 from my mom… which was all spent in a Soul Eater gashapon figurine (turned out to be Black Star and Tsubaki) and a set of two Soul Eater pins (Soul and Maka) – and to finish it off, a Haruhi poster which is now up rather unevenly on my wall. And I’m too lazy to fix it at the moment, so I just have to be grateful that I am not acquainted with someone of the same OCD level as Death the Kid. And on the way home we stopped at Tawny’s house to drop her off (she came with us this time)… and German Shepherd puppies are officially adorable. Because I say they are. At least Tawny’s are. <3 Cole especially~ But then I’ve always had a soft spot for the runt of the litter – be it dogs or cats.

And today, while Dad went with my brothers (my biological brother, Andrew, and Robbie) to see Avatar, I worked ever so little on the last chapter of A Hetalian Christmas Carol, which will go up on my fanfiction world as soon as I finish that chapter – and with any luck, it might eventually be up as a fan word too… if the Fan Words section survives Edition Skinny.

But then I didn’t get too much work done on the story, because…

I made a Mochimerica plushie today. And other than the fact that I think I made the eyes either too small or too close together, ‘tis adorable. X3 if I get that desperate to show ‘im off, I’ll take a pic with my webcam.

In other news, I saw New Moon this past Saturday… Robert Pattinson should NEVER. EVER. Be shown shirtless in a film. My goodness, I almost gagged. X.O it was all flabby… and gross… and hairy.

And I started watching the drama for Hana Kimi, and asked for volume one of the manga for Christmas.

… I think that’s all that went on this week, though it’s incredibly out of order. And now that I think of it, I’m praying that Whiskers doesn’t touch the brownies in the kitchen, considering that chocolate is bad for animals.

Goku: too late, I ate them all.

CCR: … you… WHAT?!

Goku: I kid. I don’t want to die by your stepdad’s wrath. Talk about scary.

Ren: so the Monkey King fears an obese Americ –

CCR: that’s enough, Ren.

Speaking of which though, knowing said stepfather he’ll probably ensure I’m up before 10 am tomorrow morning, and I won’t be as lucky as I was last night to have gone to bed at around 10:30 to 11 (right now it’s 11:43). Until next time, ja ne!

Girls' Day Out
… though I still feel bad that I didn’t have any money. TT.TT

Ren: that’s probably for the better. You would have bought anything that you could possibly suggest to your mother for regarding Christmas gifts.

CCR: true… Still, All 4 Anime is all the way out in Arizona Mills.

Ren: you went to Borders today too, though. And that’s at the mall out here.

CCR: true. And I did see some manga I want to buy~! ^^

Ren: finish KHR vol. 2 first.

CCR: part of what I plan to do over break!

Especially since, as it would seem, I’ll probably have no time to myself whatsoever in the Spring semester. I’m trying to sign up for Math 151 (college algebra – the class everyone says you have to have to transfer to any university… poo) and English 102 – with the same profs for their respective fields as I had this fall semester. And I’m taking communications and intro to mass communications (journalism). At least the Biology classes were on a Tuesday-Thursday block so I couldn’t take it, geez… But I’m going to try and get into an art class of some kind, or maybe an online World Religions class – maybe both, so I can catch up on the credits I didn’t have this past semester, and I don’t know if my scholarship covers summer courses.

I just have to wait for the override confirmation e-mail from my math and English professors because both of their classes that I’m trying to get into are full. I hope I can get those classes on my schedule before the people in charge of my scholarship see my current schedule and revoke it (I’m supposed to be registered for 12 credit hours per semester – today I was only able to register for 6 because I’m waiting on those STUPID OVERRIDE CONFIRMATIONS!slkdjsdl;fjsadl;fjsadf).

This next semester, I’ve decided, I may very well have no life at all from mid-January until May. But hey, that’s what college is about, right? Sacrificing a good four to six years of your youth to invest in a better life.

Ed: would you stop overreacting? You thought this semester was going to be like that too. And once you had your homework cleared, you were home free.

CCR: but other than math, I was taking pretty much a bunch of not-so-work-intensive classes.

Ren: need I direct you to Kit’s LJ posts? Apparently she still finds time for things other than school, and she’s been balancing many more classes – and harder classes – than you have for nearly twice as long.

CCR: I know, I know…

Okay, moving away from stressful topics!

After Kya and I went in to register for our classes, we went to Misa’s house, and… ended waking her up. But then she did say we could come at any time, according to Kya.

After Misa got ready, we picked up some lunch at Kya’s work, and we drove out to the Mills. We walked most of if not all of the mall, and in addition to browsing the new All 4 Anime store there, Misa and Kya dragged me into different clothing stores looking for stuff that I could potentially wear other than my current wardrobe… which due to much of my shopping being done with my grandma at Bealls, is sort of… drab, I guess you could say? I mean, there’s some cute stuff in there, but not much. At least it keeps me modest though and none of it is too revealing.

… Ah. Crap. I think my grandma’s coming out tomorrow.

Goku (Saiyuki): does that mean she’s taking us out to eat?! :D

CCR: nine out of ten, yes.

Goku: W00T!

Ren: darn monkey… getting so hyped up over food.

CCR: imagine if we had the Dragonball Goku here – believe me, a Saiya-jin’s appetite is far worse than even our resident basket case monkey-king.

Goku: heeey! D:

CCR: just stating the facts, sorry.

So, I guess that’s it. Currently all I’m doing is typing this up and talking with Kya over our webcams. Until next time, ja ne!
