   Anime!
All right, anime is one of thos topics that i can just go on and on about. There is just so much to it. I love the story lines, the art, the little glimpse into japanese culture and everyday life. It's just cool and i love it. But, it hasn't always been that way. I didn't always love it. I guess my first experience with anime would have to be watching transformers on saturday mornings when i was a kid. I didn't really like the show much for some reason. A lot of kids did, but i didn't. I only remember watching it a couple times. The next time i saw anime would have to be about 6 years ago when i was in 8th grade and got into Pokemon. That was an interesting phase. I was really into Pokemon, the game that is. I played the game and the cards all the time. It's what i talked about with my friends and it's what i thought about when i was bored. I was addicted. I saw the actual anime a few times. I liked it. It was different than most cartoons i watched, i didn't know why. But, my mom thought it was a really stupid show and so she didn't let me watch it. My addiction to Pokemon slowly died out and by the end of my eigth grade year i was done with it. I lost contact with all the friends i had who were really into it too. So, i didn't watch or have any contact with anime for another couple years until my dad got us cable internet and thought it would be nict to try cable television while we were at it. Naturally, the first channel i looked for was cartoon network. I watched all the cartoon network original shows like johnny bravo, dexters lab, and powerpuff girls. But, in the mornings they didn't have those shows on and instead had this interesting thing called Toonami. For a while this was seen by me as a nuisance. I didn't like the fact that they didn't have on any interesting shows. But, eventually i got so fed up with being bored that i turned it on. The first shows i watched were Tenchi Muyo, Thundercats, Gundam Wing, and Dragonball Z. I really liked Tenchi Muyo. That was my favorite of those shows. I also liked Thundercats. It was interesting, kinda funny. Gundam Wing i couldn't follow. Nothing was making sense. And Dragonball Z i saw as just downright stupid and not worth my time (i still think that). I watched these shows quite a few times before my mom saw me watching them. If you can't tell by now my mom was a little tight when it came to the shows i watched. She immediately made me turn them off. She had heard in one of her mommy's groups that that japanese stuff was bad and not suitable for kids. Sure, i might have been a sophomore in high school, but to her i was still "just a kid". It was because she saw me watching these shows that she talked my dad into canceling our cable and going back to just broadcast. After that, i didn't see any anime again until i got to college. Sure, some of my closest friends in high school were anime freaks, but i never really talked to them about it and didn't really question their addiction. I didn't understand it. To me those shows were just interesting, not really worth of being an addiction. Little did i know that the anime world was so much more than what they showed on Cartoon Network. It was, i think, December of my Freshman year before anime really entered my life again. This time it would leave a little more of an impact. It was a saturday night and i was bored as hell. I didn't have a car, and all my friends were all off playing halo or final fantasy and i wasn't all that interested. So, i started flipping through the channels. There were unfortunately no good movies on for me to watch and nothing else really looked interesting either. That is, until i stumbled across Cartoon Network. They were showing Cowboy Bebop episode 11. I thought it couldn't hurt to watch. It looked interesting. Turns out, i loved the show. I though it was great. So, i started looking around to see what other anime were out there and if any other ones were as good as this. I didn't get very far. I didn't know where to look, i'm horrible at surfing the internet. It wasn't until january that it all snowballed. My friend, Toan, in the fencing club had gotten into the Anime Survey class. And, because of this was given the priviledge (sp?) of using this one incredible room on campus. The room was outfitted with four televisions, one a big screen, and each television was hooked up to a Nintendo GameCube, Microsoft XBox, and Sony PS2 as well as a server which contained three years worth of anime accumulation. They had about 40 different shows ranging from Ranma 1/2 to Gundam Seed and from Love Hina to Bleach. Needless to say, Toan loved this room. He invited us all up there to enjoy it with him. This is where my anime addiction truly started. I spent many hours in there watching a whole range of shows. The first anime i ever completed all the way through was Last Exile. I also, in this room watched a little of Naruto, Bleach, Love Hina, Ranma 1/2, FLCL, Scrapped Princess, Fullmetal Alchemist, Sailor Moon, and Great Teacher Onizuka. I loved it. I then moved out of that room and, with Toan's help, discovered Bittorrent. I found a few sites online where i could download anime. I now boast a sizeable collection. Certainly not large, but of good size. My collection includes the following: Naruto, Bleach, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, DearS, Air, Fullmetal Alchemist, Last Exile, FLCL, Gankutsuou, X, Witch Hunter Robin, Bakuretsu Tenshi, Ah! My Goddess, Tsubasa Chronicles, Hikaru no Go, .hack//Legend of the Twilight (a.k.a. .hack//Dusk), Beck, Samurai 7, Samurai Champloo, and Shuffle!

Now, why you cared to read any of that, i can only fathom. Most likely you are now as bored as i was when i started typing. For this, i apologize. But, if you did enjoy it, thank you. I'm glad you liked it. Please, by all means come back. That goes for all those who didn't like it as well. Not all my posts will be this way. Only this one. Yes, they will most likely be sizeable posts, but they will not be so much of....well....that. Yeah. So, thaks for reading, come back again. Check out my art i will be submitting occsionally, currently i have submitted only one piece of artwork into the wallpapers section. It is not completely my own original work. In fact, all i did was take other people's stuff and fiddle with it a bit. Have no fear, i am more creative than that, i was just lazy at the time, and this looked cool anyway. Sayonara!
