Intro and chapters 1-4; Updated Chapter 4
Introduction:

Two thousand years ago, the world was a prosperous place. The air was pure, the water crisp and clean, and nature flourished among the land. Dwelling amongst the land were four races. Each race lived by their own set of rules and laws, but they shared the same governmental system. Of course, there were some rules that apply to all the Denizens of Xeno. The four races were Humans, Repthians, Animos, and Elementians. The REAns ( Repthians, Elementians, and Animos) lived in harmony with nature and its wonders. The Human Race however, lived greedily among each other. They wished to control the entire land and all of its resources. They strongly believed that they where the dominant species and didn’t have to share the land with anyone else. The REAns where only created to serve Humans (another Human belief).
The REAns did not have to fear the Human Race at all. Why? Well because they lived in secret cities that were guarded by powerful ancient magic. Only the REAns knew how to enter and leave their cities. Their homes would be built in a variety of styles, depending on the material given to them. For example, they would live in large trees or underground. The Humans lived in urbanized cities. Their homes are built much like in today’s world. They can careless about nature, as long as their lives were not affected by it. They would throw their trash in the fields, dump hazardous chemicals in the seas and fill the air with toxic gases. The REAns would meet occasionally to discuss the problems the Humans created.
Of course, just because they REAns lived in secret cities doesn’t mean they had no contact with humans. They would often trade with the humans for clothes, food, books, etc. In return the REAns would trade over medicine (REAn medicine was much more potent) for example. What Humans hated most about REAns was their belief in living in harmony with nature. Humans didn’t believe in such nonsense. “Why live in harmony with nature and its life forms? They are all going to die anyway, right?” is what every human would say. Now, not all humans believed in the same way. A small percentage saw the that the REAns spoke the truth. They all should live in harmony with the Earth and its creations. These humans would be looked down upon by their kind.
During the Festival of the Moons, the REAns would leave their cities and venture into an area secretly hidden from the humans. This area was a large ruined city, covered by vegetation and life. In the middle of this wondrous and marvelous city was a Shrine dedicated to the Nature Gods. Once every year, the REAns would gather in this city and celebrate the births of each God which pertained to the eight elements of the Earth and was the Child of Shigal, Mother Nature herself. During this time, the three moons would reach their maximum circular image and lighten the night as if it was day. What the REAns did not know was that the Humans has learned about their whereabouts. For you see, the Humans captured and tortured a merchant group that came into their town one day. The REAns were brutally tortured until they gave the exact location of their celebration to the Gods. Now that the Humans know about their hidden city, they would declare war.
The Humans took out thousands of lives that night. The REAns did not stand a chance against poison gases or guns. The REAns did not go down without a fight. Elementians used their skill in controlling elements given to them at birth. The Repthians used a similar skill but it was known as Arcana, which is very powerful magic and only a few knew. Animos and the other Repthians would use their fangs and claws to help out as much as they possibly can. The Humans became victorious.
“We killed all the stupid REAns” cried one of the survivors. The Humans went home that night, strongly believing that they are the dominant species.
Little did they know was that the REAns killed that night was only twenty-five percent of the population. Seventy-five percent of the total population stayed in their homes, for they sensed an evil shadow that night. Many told their family, relatives, and friends to stay that night but many saw that as paradox against the Gods and Shigal. The Humans celebrated day after day. The remaining REAns soon discovered the whereabouts of their brethren. With their hearts full of anger and sorrow, the REAns attacked the urbanized cities. City after city, the REAns left no survivor. The Humans where shocked! They strongly thought the REAns were wiped from the history books for good. The Humans quickly countered attacked the REAns. Soon the Earth would suffer greatly and cry for the bloodshed for the years to come.
The War was over and Humans became the dominant species. How did that happen? You may ask yourself. For, Humans tricked the REAns against each other. How? The Elementians! That’s how! Elementians bear a striking resemblance to human beings. The only difference that separate the both is 1.) Elementians control elements 2.) Elementians have colored hair (red, blue, green, etc.) 3.) Elementians had different colored eyes (like their hair). You see, Humans would dye their hair an unnatural color and venture into Repthian and Animos camps and attack. The Animos and Repthians would soon question the Elementians about their betrayal. The Elementians of course, would deny the fact that they attacked them. These races lived in harmony with each other. They had no reason to attack each other; for they fought for the same goal. The Animos and Repthians knew that as a true statement. The humans still continued to attack the Animos and Repthian camps disguised as Elementians. Blinded by anger and betrayal, the Animos and Repthian soon attacked the Elementians for lying to them, thus the war became a civil war.
The Humans celebrated in victory for tricking the Animos and Repthians in believing that their own kind was against them. Repthian and Animos leaders soon met with the Human leaders in which the Human leaders agreed to help the Animos and Repthian races in the civil war against the betrayal of the Elementians. The Elementians lost the civil war and their population soon diminished. Those who survived the war escaped to different areas of Xeno with their families. The Animos, Repthians and Humans celebrated in victory. The Animos and Repthians could not have won the war if it was not for the Humans help and their weapons. They soon saw that they have misunderstood the humans. The AR-ns sooned learned that their new ally was soon to become their masters.
That’s right, the humans soon betrayed the AR-ns. They captured many and made them their slaves. They sent others toconcentration camps where they would be worked to death, tortured, or massacred. The AR-ns felt stupefied for believing that humans were misunderstood. The AR-ns rebelled against the humans by means of war. The AR-ns did not stand a chance this time. Their numbers where too low and many where still recovering from the previous war. Now the REAn population is only five percent of the total population that dwell in Xeno.

Now the year is 2035. Thirty years after the humans became the dominant species. Now the story begins with a boy discovers his destiny and faces many challenges in his life.

ELEMENTOS:
The Awakening

Chapter 1: The Boy with a Secret

The night is filled with the noises of wild nocturnal animals. Crickets singing their song of joy of the night. The moonlight beamed down upon the small town known as Yoshiro. At the edge of town, close to the Forest of Meiro, lies a house where a lone teenage boy dwells.
Voice: “[Echoing] Iruka….”
Iruka awakens floating high above a crystalline ocean. Again, the voice continues to call his name.
Voice: “Iruka….”
Iruka: “[confused] What? Where am I?”
“[looks below him] Ahh!!”
Voice: “Do not fear my child, you are in a safe haven. I merely summoned you here.”
Iruka: “//That voice….it sounds so….familiar//”
A white mist appears concealing a shadowy figure.
Voice: “Iruka….why do you hide?”
Iruka: “Hide?”
Voice: “Why do you pretend to be something you are not?”
Iruka: “I…I…”
Voice: “You are the son of Kairi. You are an Elementian”
Iruka: “How do you know my mother’s name!? Who are you!?”
Voice: “I am--”

Iruka suddenly wakes up drenched in water.

Saya: “Wake up you good for nothing bum! Do you know what time it is?”
Iruka takes a glance at his clock that rests against the southern wall.
Iruka: “7:00 A.M.?”
Saya: “NO DUH!”
“Why aren’t you in the kitchen making breakfast for everyone? Come on, breakfast doesn’t make itself you know!”
Iruka: “I’m going I’m going!”
Iruka slips on his morning sandals and walks down the dark horrid hallway.
Saya: “You better make us real eggs this time!”
Within a few minutes Iruka prepares a morning spread of delicious mouthwatering pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast. He served each member at the table. They greedy gobbled their food down as if they had not had anything to eat for the past few days. Iruka quietly sits at the very end of the table eating a red juicy apple.
Tseki: “Well I’m out of here! Me and the guys are gonna roam the streets for awhile”
Saya: “Ok son. Will you be back for lunch?”
Tseki: “Nah, we’ll just grab something to eat”
“[puts his hand on Iruka’s shoulder] Do you want to come with me?”
Iruka: “Sure”
Tseki: “Well TOO BAD! [smacks the back of his head]”
Iruka gently rubs his head trying to ease the pain. Saya and Naga, her husband, leave the table and disappear in the dark hallway. A few minutes later, they emerge from the bowels of darkness and walk out the door.
Iruka: “Hey! Where are you going?”
Saya: “WE are going out for the day! So FINISH your chores unless you want another [Saya slams his fist into her left palm]”
Iruka slowly walks back into the house as Saya and Naga leave the drive way. Closing the door behind him, he leans against it and begins to weep silently.
[1:00 P.M.]
The door if the Takabashi resident opens as it regurgitates a cloud of dust. Iruka walks outside sweeping the front steps, ridding it from the dust that he just swept out. The temple bell begins echo through out the town. Iruka attentively listens to the chimes.
Iruka: “It’s one already!?”
Iruka dashes inside opening cabinets to find something he could cook. After ripping apart through the kitchen he found nothing.
Iruka: “Oh no, it’s already 1:30 and I don’t have anything to cook!”
“I know! I’ll go to Oso’s store! If I take the alley I should be there in a flash”
Iruka runs down the steps and makes a sharp right turn. Tseki and his gang arrive back home. Apparently, the restaurant they wanted to eat at was closed down yesterday. So Tseki decided to go home and make Iruka make them something to eat but to their surprise, Iruka was not home. Shocked to hear nothing but silence, Tseki begins to check every room calling out Iruka’s name. After searching the entire house, he decides to cause a little mischief.
[Meanwhile]
The bells clash against each other as Iruka enters Oso’s store.
Iruka: “Oso!! [no response]”
“Oso?”
A tall shadowy wolf like figure slowly approaches Iruka from behind. As it embraces one of its arms on Iruka’s shoulder, Iruka lunges forward in fright but another arm grabs Iruka’s other shoulder holding him in place. The figures puts its snout on Iruka’s ear..
???: “What are you doing in here you human? Do you have an early death wish?”
Iruka: “[nervously] Of all times….why now….”
Oso: “Hahaha just having a little fun with you Iruka ^^”
Iruka: “ You scared me half to death!?”
Oso: “Sorry, I just couldn’t resist. Hahaha”
“So what can I help with my boy?”
Iruka: “I need one of your lunch specials and pronto!”
Oso: “One of my lunch specials? Did you convert to..”
Iruka: “It’s not for me! it’s for my parents. I didn’t notice the time and there wasn’t any ingredients for me to use at home and…”
Oso: “Oh well here you go [hands Iruka a lunch special]”
Iruka: “What the…how…how did you get this so quickly?”
Oso: “I grabbed one for myself just when you came in”
Iruka: “Thanks Oso!”
Iruka dashes out of the store in a flurry. Oso laughs to himself and goes back to the snack bar.
[2:05 P.M.]
Out of breath, Iruka arrives back home but to his surprise.
Iruka: “[shocked tone] Wha…..what happened?”
Tseki and his friends have trashed the whole place. Mud has swallowed the concrete steps, blotched everywhere. Inside, the kitchen was thrown out of order, the shattered bits and pieces of dishes lay across the floor, skid marks in weird patterns portrayed on the freshly mopped living room floor. Clothes hanged outside to dry rested on the moist grass.
Iruka dropped the grocery bag and collapsed to his knees.
Iruka: “What…what I going to do?”
Saya: “IRUKA!?!?!”
Iruka: “Oh no!”
Saya: “Didn’t I tell you to clean the house!? I don’t recall ever telling you to turn it into a pig sty!”
Iruka: “[rises from the ground and confronts Saya] But I didn’t do it! I had this place clean before I left….I mean”
Saya: “Left? Left where? [looks down at the grocery bag]”
“You little rat, you went out didn’t you?”
Iruka: “I…I…”
Saya slaps Iruka so hard that he falls to the ground. Iruka places his hand on his burning cheek with his eyes overflowing with tears.
Iruka: “//What have I done to deserve this?//”
Saya: “Now get up! I said get up!! [kicks Iruka]”
Iruka: “Ahh…”
Saya: “Not following orders eh? You lousy scumbag! [kicks Iruka even harder]”
Iruka “AHHH!!!”
Saya: “Now look at the mess you made?”
Naga: “Maybe we should throw him in the Dark Room”
Iruka: “[barely able to speak] No….please….”
Saya: “Shut up! [stomps her foot on Iruka]”
Iruka: “Kyuu..”
Naga: “Let’s just throw him in there, I think he had enough of a beating today. Come on dear we promised each other that we will go out to eat tonight. Don’t waste your energy on this pathetic excuse for a human”
Saya: “Your right honey, we should just leave him to rot in there”
Iruka is thrown into a dark room in the floor. His body hit’s the cold moist earth. The light slowly disappeared as Saya closed the only exit. A small window was the only method of communication.
Saya: “[cynical voice] We will be leaving soon and if you don’t die then I’ll possibly give you a second chance and let you out? Ok? Hahahahaha”
Storm clouds begin to gather in the azure blue sky. As the thunder clash, Oso walks outside and looks into the Horizon.
Oso: “Iruka….something’s wrong with Iruka!”
Iruka’s eyes overflow with tears of pain and sorrow. His blood slowly seeps out of his body and is absorbed by the earth. His heart slowly beats, soon his heart could give out. Suddenly Tseki rears his head to the small opening.
Tseki: “Still alive? Mom really beat you this time. I never saw her that mad.”
Iruka: “[barely able to speak] It was….you…..wasn’t it….”
Tseki: “Well I can’t take all the credit? My friends did help with the mess [winks]”
Iruka: “Why you….”
Tseki: “Why me what? I can do anything in this house and blame it on you! It’s perfect!”
Iruka: “Why….why do you despise me so?”
Tseki: “Like you don’t know why..”
Saya: “[in distance] Tseki!! Come on hurry up!!”
Tseki: “Well….I’ll see ya later, if you don’t die first”
The entire house becomes silent and dark. Iruka begins to weep loudly. Oso arrives at the Takabashi resident. The house appears gloomy, filled with sorrow as Oso gazes at it.
Oso: “No one seems to be home…”
Oso walks up the muddy steps and rings the doorbell.
Iruka hears the chime of the doorbell and begins to call out.
Iruka: “Is someone there? Please help me!”
Oso: “I don’t like this. No one is responding but the smell of blood is strong..”
“[knocking] Hello is someone there? It’s me, Oso!”
Iruka: “Oso! [his voice fades away]”
Oso: “[his ears twitch] That was Iruka’s voice. Iruka! Open the door! Iruka!!”
The rain begins to pour from the heavens at an alarming rate. Oso grows anxious as Iruka doesn’t respond.
Oso: “Iruka answer me!!”
“// There’s no choice I got to break in! Iruka could be hurt!//”
Oso takes a couple of steps back and kicks the door down. Walking inside, the smell of blood is strong.
Oso: “Iruka? Iruka where are you?”
Iruka begins to call Oso in a very low voice.
Iruka: “Mr…Gyro…”
Oso: “//He isn’t responding. The blood is stronger if I walk this way//”
Slowly, he approaches the hidden chamber underground. The blood becomes overwhelming as Oso stands directly above the door leading to Iruka.
Oso: “I can smell blood but there isn’t any in sight…unless”
Oso looks down to the floor where a small window lies. He peers inside but could only see darkness.
Oso: “Iruka are you in there? Answer me please?”
Iruka: “[low tone] Mr..Gyro..help me….”
Oso: “Don’t worry Iruka I’ll have you out!”
With one swing of his claw the lock shatters into pieces. Oso opens the door and jumps inside, Oso’s feet sink as his feet touch the moist earth. Clutching Iruka in his arms, Oso springs upward and leaves the forsaken house.
Back at his shop, Oso lays Iruka on the shop counter. Turning on the light, Oso removes Iruka’s torn shirt and is horrified to see his body covered in cuts and bruises.
Iruka: “[looking at Oso] Am…I going to die…”
Oso: “No Iruka, you aren’t going to die”
With that said, Oso holds his hand above Iruka’s body. He begins to chant words in his Animian language. Small orbs of light begin to appear around his body.
Oso: “[finishes chanting] Heal this child now!!”
Iruka is bathed in a warm soothing bright aura. His body is purified of all cuts and bruises.

Chapter 2: The birth of an Elementian

Iruka stands quietly gazing out the window, watching the busy people of Yoshiro roam the streets. A knock at the door fills the air.
Iruka: “Come in….”
The door sways open, Oso enters with a tray.
Oso: “Good Morning Iruka. Where you able to sleep well last night?”
Iruka: “…..”
Oso: “Hmm…[looks at the empty chair]. Oh I see that you put on the clothes I left for you on the chair. Did they fit you?”
Iruka: “Yes, thank you…”
Oso lays the tray on the bed and walks over to Iruka who is wrapped around in blanket.
Oso: “What’s wrong Iruka?”
Iruka: “Why do they hate me so?”
Oso: “I beg your pardon?”
Iruka: “Why does everyone in town hate me? Their eyes full of hatred whenever they gaze upon me”
Oso: “Well Iruka, you are the only human I see that talks or interacts with the REAns here in town”
Iruka: “Even they look at me with eyes of hatred. What have I done to them…”
Oso: “Iruka did you ever consider the thought of you being human? You do know that REAns hate humans?”
Iruka: “I know that they do but why won’t they accept me? I may be human but I don’t act like them. You are the only one that truly understands and accepts me. Not even my own family did that”
Oso: “The Takabashis? They are the most greedy and racial family in Yoshiro. I don’t know how you wound up with them”
Iruka: “I wish I wound up with you instead”
Oso: “I would’ve loved to become your Guardian but you know that human laws forbid REAns to adopt a human child”
Iruka: “Human child….heh….if only they knew….”
Oso: “Knew what?”
Iruka: “Never mind…”
Oso releases a great sigh.
Oso: “You are welcome to stay here as long as you like. I can always use a helping hand”
Iruka: “Thank you….”
“Oso..”
Oso: “Yes Iruka?”
Iruka: “That was elemental magic you used last night, right?”
Oso: “Yes….it was”
Iruka: “I thought only Elementians could use elemental magic”
Oso: “Well I learned that technique from one”
Iruka: “The same one that….”
Oso: “[pauses] Yes….the same one…”
As the door closes behind Oso, Iruka turns around to see the tray Oso brought in. An assortment of diced fruit in a bowl, Iruka just cracked a smile.
[Some time in the afternoon]
Rex: “So Oso did you hear about the kidnapping last night?”
Oso: “What robbery?”
Rex: “Apparently, an Animos kidnapped a human last night”
Oso: “Oh? What makes them so certain it was an Animos?”
Rex: “Well the kidnapper left muddy footprints and the R.E.S. confirmed that they are Animo footprints.”
Oso: “Oh really? Well there are thousands of Animos living here”
Rex: “Well they usually find their culprit somehow”
Oso: “Hmph”
Iruka: “[carrying a few boxes] Excuse me”
Rex: “Hmm? Oh sorry about that [moves his tail]”
Iruka: “Thanks”
Oso: “Just fill in the empty spaces Iruka”
Iruka: “Got it”
Rex: “I didn’t know you had a human helping you out here?”
Oso: “Well he isn’t like the other humans, he’s kind-hearted and caring. Something you never see in humans.”
Rex: “Hmmm, well I better go before the Mrs.‘s and kids think something happened to their papa”
Oso: “Yeah..”
Rex: “Oh here [Rex takes out a few roses from his satchel] the Mrs.’s told me to give these to you. We all wish you our sympathy. What is it now? Two years?”
Oso: “Yes, it will be two years tomorrow….and thank you”
As Rex walks out he is pushed back inside by Saya.
Rex: “Hey what gives!”
Saya: “Shut up! Have any of you seen this boy?”
Saya hold up a picture of Iruka. Oso steps out of the counter and stands next to Rex to look at the photo.
Rex: “Oh yeah he’s [Oso steps on his tail]….oww!!”
Oso: “We haven’t seen any human boy around here, now I ask kindly of you to leave my store now”
Saya: “Something seems suspicious about you….”
Oso: “Look Mrs. Takabashi, I’m asking you kindly to leave my store”
A few cans fall of the shelves.
Saya: “What was that?”
Oso: “That was…”
Rex: “Ever heard of gravity?”
Saya: “I will only leave if I may look around you store”
Oso could see Iruka from the corner of his eye hiding behind one of the shelves.
Oso: “If that is the means of making you leave then go ahead”
Saya disappears into one of the aisles and darts into the next one. Oso signals Iruka to hide behind the counter. Iruka dashes behind the counter just in time as Saya was on the other side of the aisle.
Oso: “Did find what you where looking for?”
Saya: “I’m on to you scumbag”
Saya leaves the store.
Rex: “Why did you step on my tail for?”
Iruka: “[rising from behind the counter] Because of me”
Rex: “Wait a minute, you said Takabashi? They are the ones who are looking for their son. Oso you are the kidnapper!?”
Iruka: “He is not the kidnapper nor am I their son. The Takabashi’s treated me as their slave. Oso saved me from dying last night after taking a beating from her.”
Rex: “Well I better be going and the two of you better take care”
Iruka: “Please don’t tell anyone that I’m hiding here”
Rex: “Don’t worry kid, you helped my son so I’ll repay the favor”
Iruka: “Son? Break?”
Rex: “Yeah, I’m his father”
Iruka: “Well tell Break I said Hello”
Rex: “I will, take care now”
Oso: “Helped his son? In what?”
Iruka: “Well, some humans where attacking him so I jumped in and well…took the beating for him instead”
Oso: “You really are something you know…[rubs Iruka’s head]”
“Now how about we have lunch?”
Iruka: “Sure”
Oso: “Go take a few sodas up stairs, I’ll catch up”
Iruka: “Ok”
Little did they know that Saya was outside peering through the window.
Saya: “Oh I do believe you are hiding something dog-man. Just wait till tomorrow….”
The next day, Oso opens rolls of quarters, nickels, and dimes in order to have enough change. Iruka hastily restocks the shelves before Oso opens the doors.
Oso: “Iruka where you able to sleep last night?”
Iruka: “Why?”
Oso: “I heard you turning in your bed over and over. Is everything ok?”
Iruka: “Yeah, just couldn’t find the right spot”
Oso: “You sure?”
Iruka: “I’m sure”
Oso: “Can you go open the doors?”
Iruka: “Sure”
Oso: “Oh wait before you go, can you go grab me a cup of coffee?”
Iruka: “Cream? No cream?”
Oso: “Without any is fine”
Iruka goes to the back of the store where the snack bar lies. Oso reads the morning paper when he hears a light tap on the window. Oso opens the doors with his extra key to let his early customer inside.
Oso: “Good morning Rose, what are you doing here so early?”
Rose: “Well I came here to wish you my sympathy for your loss. It’s two years now since you lost her…isn’t it”
Oso: “Yes…I never stop thinking about her”
Rose: “What happened to her if you don’t mind me for asking?”
Oso: “Well there was this Elementian that stayed with us. He drifted into town and he needed a place to stay. He was a nice guy, never suspected him to do such a horrible thing. One night he disappeared and when he returned in the morning he….he….[a tear runs down Oso’s fur]”
Rose: “I’m sorry”
Oso: “It’s ok…sorry for the waterworks”
Rose: “No, it’s ok to cry. I still weep for my husband who was killed by a human three years ago”
Oso: “But your so young”
Rose: “Hey I’m only twenty-four”
Oso: “Hahaha”
Rose: “How old are you Oso?”
Oso: “I’m twenty-eight myself..”
Rose: “Your still young…why don’t you find someone else?”
Oso: “Well I told myself that I would not date or see anyone else…”
Rose: “Not even someone who shares similar qualities? [looking into Oso’s yellow eyes]”
Oso: “[blushing] Well I don’t know…”
Rose: “We share so much in common…”
Oso: “[looking into her eyes] We do…..”
Shattering glass and a loud thud break up the scene between Oso and Rose.
Oso: “Iruka?”
Iruka: “Make it stop!!”
Oso and Rose look at each other and run to the snack bar. Oso stops as he turns and holds Rose back. The coffee pot is shattered into pieces while the coffee floats in small spheres in the air. Iruka lies on the floor holding his as if in pain.
Oso: “Iruka? What’s wrong?”
Iruka: “Make it stop!!”
Rose: “Make what stop?”
Iruka: “The moaning, the crying, why won’t it leave me alone! AHHHHH!!!”
The fire sprinklers set off.
Rose: “[frightened and clasping close to Oso] What’s going on Oso!”
Rose: “I don’t know!”
Iruka: “Ahhh!!”
The water pipes supply water to the sprinkler system burst sending gallons of water into the store. Oso looks down at Iruka who still seems in pain. He notices that a symbol of some sort is being incarnated into his right hand.
Iruka: “AHHHH!!! [passes out]”
The water suddenly freezes into ice.
Oso: “Iruka’s is a…”

Chapter 3: Death

Oso: “Iruka is a…..Elementian…”
Rose: “He’s an Elementian? The ones that betrayed us during the war?”
Oso releases Rose from her grip and walks over to the unconscious Iruka. Black dye runs down his face as his natural hair color is exposed. Oso lifts Iruka from the ground and slowly carries him up the steps.
Oso: “Rose….”
Rose: “Yes?”
Oso: “Do you mind running the shop for me for awhile?”
Rose: “Don’t you think we need to clean up this ice?”
Oso: “If you don’t mind, do you think you can do it for me? Until I place him in bed?”
Rose: “[nods] Sure”
Oso: “Thanks”
Oso places Iruka in the bed he slept in last night. Looking at Iruka, Oso begins to fill with hatred. Here before, lies an Elementian, the type that killed his wife two years ago. Oso begin to sweat, he felt the urge to kill him but he couldn’t, he couldn’t kill this boy, not after seeing him suffer for so long. If he killed him what good will it do? It won’t bring back his wife from the dead.
Oso: “That explains a lot about you Iruka. Why you care so much for us REAns in town. You yourself are an Elementian, even though I may despise them, I don’t despise you. I may look at you with hatred but I will still protect you from those who wish to harm you. You have suffered so much as a young boy and now your powers have awakened. That symbol incarnated in your arm, that is no ordinary symbol that Elementians receive. You are indeed one of the chosen ones.”
Oso leaves the room and slowly walks down the steps. Remembering a past memory.

Oso: “What is it that you wish to ask of me?”
???: “Can’t you sense that something powerful is coming?”
Oso: “Yeah I can”
???: “I want you to promise me something”
Oso: “Sure, anything for a friend”
???: “I want you to look after my family if something happens to me”
Oso: “I’ll protect them always. You can rest assured that I will protect them”
???: “Thank you friend”
ßEnd of flashbackà
Oso: “Merrows….if only you could see how good of a job I’m doing now. This child of yours indeed took the form of his mother. The others, I don’t know what happened to them…are they alive? Dead?”
Rose walks a few steps towards Oso who leans against the stairway wall.
Rose: “Oso are you ok?”
Oso: “[weeping] I don’t know…”
Rose: “[she hugs Oso] It’s ok now, cry all you want. I’m here for you”
Oso and Rose eat quietly together behind the shop counter. Opened take-out boxes decorate the register. Oso hardly ate his food while Rose slowly ate hers.
Rose: “What’s on your mind Oso?”
Oso: “Nothing Rose”
Rose: “Something is bothering you. After what that kid did you’ve been acting strange lately. You hardly touched your food. Something’s wrong I know it and I want to know what it is. Please…you can tell me anything”
Oso: “It’s a promise I made to a friend…”
Rose: “And..?”
Oso: “[angered] And? And! Is that all you have to say!? I haven’t kept my promise! That’s what’s bothering me!?”
Rose: “You didn’t have to yell….”
Oso: “I’m sorry…it’s just that….[sigh]”
Rose: “It’s ok, I understand that it must be tough right now but--”
Cars are heard in the distance. Soon they arrive right in front of the shop and men dressed in black flood out from them.
Captain San: “This is the REAns Extermination Squad! Oso Gyro, please come with your hands out! You are under arrest under the charges of Child Abduction!”
Rose: “The R.E.S !? What do they want you for?”
Oso: “Apparently saving Iruka’s life is seen wrong? Grr…”
Captain San: “Do you need me to repeat myself Gyro!! Do not force us to take drastic actions!!”
Rose: “What are you going to do?”
Oso: “I have to protect Iruka at all costs”
Rose: “Why? Why do you need to protect him? He’s an Elementian, he’s worst than the humans. His kind betrayed ours in the war w---”
Oso: “He’s one of the chosen ones. He’s one of the ones that have been told in the prophecy!”
Rose: “[shocked] What!?”
Captain San: “Move out men! Apparently this pathetic Animos doesn’t want to follow orders! Bring anyone you find back outside! GO NOW!”
Officers: “Yes sir!”
As the officers move in, Oso and Rose run upstairs to Iruka’s room.
Oso: “He’s not here!? Where could have he gone!?”
Rose: “The window!”
The curtains sway by the wind. Oso peers outside to see if Iruka was close by.
Oso: “He’s gone”
Rose: “Of all times”
Oso: “It’s a good thing that he’s gone. I just hope that he’s far far away from here”
Rose: “Oso!”
Oso: “Huh?”
Officer: “Come with me unless you want to see her die”
Oso: “Grr…”
Oso is handcuffed and is escorted outside where the rest of the R.E.S. wait. Oso is thrown down to the ground in front of the Captain San while Rose is restrained by other officers. Little did they know that Iruka laid hidden behind one of the trashcans in the alley.
Officer: “Sir! We did not find any traces of the boy sir!”
Captain San: “Thank you. You are dismissed!”
Officer: “Yes sir!”
Captain San: “Now Gyro, where is the boy? Hmmm?”
Oso: “I don’t know what you are talking about!”
Captain San: “Oh really? Then you wouldn’t mind if I killed this pretty wolf over here now?”
Rose: “Don’t touch me!! Ahh! Oso!”
Oso: “Leave her alone!”
Captain San: “Well what did you do to the boy! It’s bad enough that we humans allow you REAns to live here. Heck we where even kind enough to give you jobs and allow you to own shops. But the one thing that we will not tolerate is your type stealing our children!”
“So where is he!?”
Oso: “…..”
Captain San: “Talk damn you! [kicks Oso]”
Oso: “Grr…”
Captain San: “Ready men, aim fire at that target!”
Oso: “You wouldn’t dare!”
Captain San: “Oh I would Mr. Gyro, believe me, I would”
“Now if you really want to save her life then tell me what did you do with the boy!”
Oso: “I….I….[closes his eyes for a moment]. I killed him”
Captain San: “You what!?”
Oso: “I killed him with my bare hands! I ate his organs and burned the rest of his body to ashes! Happy Now!”
Captain San: “You monster!? [stomps his foot on Oso]”
Rose: “Oso!! Why don’t you tell him the truth!!”
“Oso!!”
Captain San: “That’s enough out of you!”
Captain San draws his pistol and fires five times at Rose. Rose’s body collapses to muddy earth as she takes her last breath.
Oso: “Rose!!!!!”
Captain San: “You’re next! Pick this scumbag from the ground and prepare for execution!”
Officers: “Yes sir!”
Oso is lifted from the ground and tied to one of the porch posts that made his shop. The officers prepare and aim their gun directly at their target. Now the only thing left from claiming Oso’s life is the Captains signal to fire.
Captain San: “You disgust me [he spits into Oso’s face]”
“Ready men! Aim!”
Oso: “// I am sorry my friend but I have…failed you!//”
Captain San: “Fire!!!”
A river of blood falls to the ground. Captain San walks up to inspect the body. Oso is still alive but slowly dying by his open wounds, Captain San draws his saber and jabs it into Oso’s heart. Oso’s body twitches twice and then completely slumps over.
Captain San: “May this be a lesson to all of you REAns out there watching! If you ever break a law or kill one of our kind! Expect yourself to suffer the same fate as this low-life!”
Captain San and the R.E.S. begin to laugh amongst themselves. Iruka runs down the alley with his eyes overflowing with tears. Iruka runs out of town and into the Meiro woods. He continues to run until he finally collapses on the highest peak above Lake Meiro.
Iruka: “[weeping] Why Oso!! Why did you sacrifice your life for mine! I should’ve been the one to die! Not you!”
“I only know a life of pain and suffering….I never felt loved by anyone at all. Everyone gazed down upon as if my existence meant nothing! I, myself, am an Elementian! Elementian blood runs through my veins! Because of that…my life is a lonely one, only to be filled with pain! I don’t know why it couldn’t have been me instead of you!!….[continues to weep loudly]”
The wind begins to blow at an alarming rate as the sky is swallowed by incoming storm clouds. Rain begins to pour as if the sky has sympathy for Iruka.
Iruka: “Now the earth cry’s for me? It doesn’t need to….my life ends now…”
Iruka, still weak, lifts his body from the ground and slowly walks over to the peaks edge. Gazing down to the lake, Iruka looks up to the sky one last time. Right before Iruka was about to jump, he heard a click sound.
Iruka: “Chri--”
The gun round being fired roars through out Meiro forest. Birds take to the skies in fright and scream in terror. A mysterious figure is shrouded by the dense rain. Iruka’s body lunges backwards due to the impact. His body quickly falls into the lake below. The water greedily swallows him alive and is sent down to the bottom. The mysterious figure walks over to the peaks edge and merely smiles. Iruka slowly closes his eyes as the surface of the water slowly dissipates.

Chapter 4: Sad Happiness

Iruka’s body sinks deeper and deeper into the dark depths of the lake. Bubbles rise from the lake bottom but not just ordinary bubbles. These bubbles glow with a bright light that bring tranquility to those who gaze into them. A huge wave of bubbles surge to the top. Iruka disappears underneath the wave of bright light.
Voice: “Iruka….[echoes]”
“Iruka…..”
Iruka: “[slowly opens his eyes] Wha….what?”
Iruka stands up straight and shakes his head to snap out of unawareness.
Iruka: “Where am I? Is this--”
Voice: “[Echo effect] No. I brought you here”
Iruka: “But how? I was shot by Chri--”
Voice: “[Echo effect] No. You only felt the impact from the blow but the blow was not real”
Iruka: “What?”
Iruka examines his chest where he had been shot but to his surprise he only had a bruise. A small shiny object hit’s the ground.
Iruka: “An empty shell? But it felt so real…I thought…I died”
Voice: “The person who shot you never meant to hurt you. He could not let live with such guilt”
Iruka: “Who are you? And why did you summon me here?”
Voice: “My name is….”
Eight orbs of light collide together before Iruka. After the bright light fades, Iruka removes his hand from his eyes to see what had happened. A young women stood before him. Her hair is a soft velvet blue hair that touched the ground. Her eyes themselves are as blue as the Caribbean sea. Her skin and long gown matches that of fallen snow. As her feet touch the ground a wave of life fills the empty space. Grass, trees, and flowers sprout from the ground, fully grown. The sky obtains its heavenly blue color and the wind gently whips through the treetops. She looks at Iruka with a warm smile.
Voice: “Shigal”
Iruka: “Shigal!? The spirit of Mother Nature!!”
Shigal: “Yes, I am the spirit of Mother Nature, the mother of the nature gods.”
“Iruka, why is it that you urge such a premature death?”
Iruka: “Why? Why! All in my life, all I ever knew is pain and suffering. If I try to get close to anyone, they would perish from my life. Everyone gazes down upon me with eyes filled with hatred. My existence means nothing to them. I have no family to turn to….I am alone in the world….and always will be”
Shigal: “Iruka my child, do not say such words. You are unique and special. You do not understand how special you are. You shall soon understand that your existence in the world is needed. Your mother gave her life for your existence or did you forget?”
Iruka: “[closes his eyes] Mother…”
“The only memory that I have from her is…”
Shigal: “She gave her life for your survival. Iruka you are one of the Chosen Ones”
Iruka: “Chosen One? What do you mean ‘Chosen One’?”
Shigal: “The prophecy foretells of a boy and five members that will save the world from destruction and chaos.”
Iruka: “What does that have to do with me?”
???: “It means that you will have to die!!”
Iruka: “What the..!!”
The sky turns deep red as blood itself. Flames erupt and engulf the land. Shigal is whisked to the sky and imprisoned within a crystal. Iruka stands motionless.
Iruka: “What’s going on!!”
A blast of black smoke erupts from the ground. As the smoke cleared a tall slender man wearing a black trench coat emerges from the smog. His scarlet red hair and his dark red eyes sent chills down your spin.
He withdrew a sword that clung from his back. On the sword itself were runes imbedded within the blade that began to glow as he approached Iruka.
???: “Since your spirit is in this place, killing you now would make things much easier for me!”
The man jumped into the air and strikes the ground were Iruka stands. Everything within a five mile radius of the blade dissolved and decayed. Encased in an orb of light, Iruka’s spirit returned back to his body. The man looks at the crystallized Shigal with disgust.
A large alligator rises from the water carrying a body in his hands. Gently, he lays the body on the sandy shore. The alligator begins to listen for a heartbeat and then gently shakes the body.
Iruka: “[a slight pause then coughs up water. Slowly he opens his eyes and sees a hazy image] Umm..”
???: “Are you alright?”
Iruka passes out.
[ Two days later]
Iruka tosses and turns on the sands of Lake Meiro.
ß Dream Sequence: Iruka is seven years old in this dreamà
Droplets of water fall from the sky hitting the waters surface breaking it‘s tension. A small boy looks behind some cattail and under water lilies searching for something. Suddenly a small alligator appears from behind him and squirts him. The little boy turns around to see nothing behind him but he feels another shot taken at him.
Iruka: “Where are you? I know you’re around here…”
A small alligator rises from the shallow water to make another attack but he notices that Iruka is gone. He swims to Iruka’s exact location but doesn’t seem to find him. Two hands appear behind him and drags him underwater. As the small alligator resurfaces he turns around he sees Iruka laughing at him.
ß Now the dream becomes a nightmare: A strong storm just struck the island with winds blowing over 60 miles an hour.à
Two men firmly grab Iruka who is screams for help. The baby blue alligator runs behind them as he tries to catch up to the two large men. The little alligator slips on the muddy road and falls down the muddy slope. He loses track of Iruka and the two large men but he can still hear Iruka’s cries for help as he climbs back up the slope. The little alligator arrives at the beach and sees Iruka being loaded onto a boat. The boat then takes off into the angry sea who’s waves crash with fury.
The small alligator jumps into the sea and begins to swim after the boat. A huge wave crashes down from the heavens and into the boat. Luckily everyone aboard survived but the small alligator was no where in sight. Iruka searches the surrounding sea as his tears mix with the heavy rainfall, hoping to spot his friend.
ß End of Dream Sequence à
Iruka wakes up in fright breathing hard as an after effect.
Iruka: “Was…was that….a fragment of my past?”
Iruka walks through the woods and then walks onto a large rock that stretches out to the shallow waters of Lake Meiro.
Iruka: “[remembering bits and pieces of the meeting with Shigal] Who was that guy? Why did he want to kill me? What did she mean by ‘Chosen One’? I just don’t understand…..”
???: “You filthy scum!!”
Iruka: “What was that?”
Iruka runs over to the edge pf the rock and gazes down. Two large wooden steaks are planted firmly into the ground. The water is a deep red as it continues to expand. Tied by his hands, the large alligator that saved Iruka’s life is now being brutally beaten by non other than Tseki and his gang.
???: “[weakly as blood flows from his mouth] What have I ever done to you…”
Tseki: “[draws his katana] Nothing really. It’s just that I really despise your guts. [passes the tip of his katana across the alligators stomach slighty pressing against it] And boy do you have a lot of guts”
Tseki quickly smacks the bottom jaw of the alligator with the hilt of the katana.
Noubu: “Better hurry it up Tseki, the camera is marking low battery.”
Shiro: “I think you gave him enough of a beating ya? Just finish him off already. I feel something bad is going to happen.”
Tseki: “Just shut up and keep the camera rolling. This is the only way the R.E.S. would accept me. Bringing this gator down should even promote me to Captain. Hahaha!!”
“Well my pudgy friend it seems that I must kill you now. Too bad we couldn’t have gotten to know each other better but you know. Then again you wouldn’t know because you’re just a REAn. Ha…”
Noubu: “Ugh!”
Shiro: “Ahh! [runs away]”
Tseki: “[turning around] Hey watch is with the camera No--what the!?”
Iruka: “Is this what you and your friends did every time you went out? Kill innocent REAns for your own selfish gain? Have you no conscious?”
Tseki: “Hah! I didn’t believe the R.E.S. when they said that Oso killed you. You always managed to survive somehow.”
Iruka: “Don’t change the subject!”
Tseki: “Yeah and what if I am? They don’t deserve to live anyways. I don’t understand why we even let them live in our town. But you know what? I was happy to hear that Oso was killed. [cynical laughter] I never did like him anyways.”
Iruka: “Grrrr..”
Tseki: “Well Iruka, why don’t you come home? I bet mother would LOVE seeing you alive. Maybe she won’t beat you this time.”
Tseki focus on Iruka as he walks forward.
Tseki: “Why are you here anyways?”
Iruka: “That is none of your business”
Tseki: “Ohhh now I see. Heh heh heh, you’re here to save this tub of lard huh?”
Iruka remains silent.
Tseki: “I don’t know whether your crazy or just stupid. You always stood up for these REAns. Saving their lives by taking on the blame or being there just in time to clean up the mess they made but you know what? You’re too late this time!!”
Tseki throws his Katana at the helpless alligator. Iruka’s eyes focus on the blade and a jet of water springs upward deflecting the blade upward.
Tseki: “How did that happen!? [turns around and faces Iruka in fright] You! You’re an ELEMENTIAN!? Aren‘t you!?”
???: “// He’s an Elementian?//”
Iruka: “[mocking Tseki] Yeah and what if I am?”
Tseki: “Grrr..I’ll kill you with my bare hands!!”
Tseki charges but Iruka stands tall. Right before Tseki struck, his arm froze into ice.
Tseki: “What did you do to me!?”
Iruka: “The punishment you deserve…”
Tseki: “ARRGHH!!”
Tseki takes a swing with his other arm but Iruka freezes it also. Tseki falls to the floor.
Tseki: “You bastard!!”
Iruka: “Why don’t you run home to your mother?”
Tseki: “I’ll show you!”
Tseki rises from the ground and charges at Iruka a fast rate. Iruka steps to the side as Tseki passes by. Now Iruka focuses his power and freezes Tseki’s legs. Tseki trips and crashes into a tree rendering him unconscious.
???: “[coughs violently]”
Iruka turns around and approaches the large alligator. At that time, Noubu awakens from his unconsciousness and notices that he’s the only one left. Making a mad run to the woods he finds Tseki’s unconscious body. Barely able to sustain Tseki’s weight, Noubu carries him into the woods.
Iruka: “[looking at the alligator with sympathetic eyes, sad tone] What have they done to you?”
???: “[weak smile] I’m glad to see that you’re alright. You’ve been sleeping for the past two days that I thought you--emmph.”
Iruka: “Save your strength. I’ll try to find help some how.”
???: “Don’t bother. With these wounds…I don’t have much to live. I’m just glad that you are alive and well…”
Iruka: “[tears begin to flow] Don’t say that…”
“You saved my life. All my life I my heart only understands pain and suffering but standing here before you….my heart feels tranquil. I don’t want you to die. [Iruka runs and hugs the large alligator] I won’t let you die!!!!”
With that said, the water around them rises and circles them. The water within the circle of dancing water begins to engulf them. Streams of white wind circle around and collide into the sphere of water which disperses afterwards. Iruka releases the large alligator and falls backward. Quickly the alligator breaks free from his knots and grabs Iruka before he struck the ground. The large alligator looks at Iruka with his icy blue eyes.
???: “[warm smile] Thank you…”
Once again the alligator carries Iruka’s in his arms. Returning back to the location two days prior, the alligator lays down on the soft sand and rests Iruka’s head against his stomach. The alligator then positions himself into a defensive curl.

goofy
You are Goofy. Kind natured, pacifist, naive. You
pretty much beam kindness. People depend on you
when they are feeling down, and you are always
happy to comply. You will stick by your friends
till the end, and will refuse to let anything
happen to them. Your kind nature leaves you
open for attack; people could easily take
advantage of you. Your only shield is your
strong heart, which could never fail when put
to the test.
