   Meri kurisumasu!
An ah happi nu yiah! (sorry for stealing, SomeGuy)

Soooo... What happened?! Didja get what ya asked for? Didja get something better? Didja get coal? Were you the victim of a practical joke? Did someone drink too much eggnog? I wanna hear all the stories!

We have the tradition of opening our presents on Christmas Eve and then waiting around for Santa to come the next morning, but this year we got them all in one go. Easier on the parents, I guess.

The Tally
~ 1 Scene It Game (2nd Edition)
~ 2 new t-shirts (courtesy of Despair Wear)
~ 1 wall patch grid and tub of putty (for a hole I didn't think I'd manage to kick last October)
~ 2 new video games (Assassins Creed and Mass Effect)
~ 1 proof set of gold plated 1999 collector's quarters (shiny!)
~ 2 gamer chairs (complete with headrest speakers- oh yeah)
~ 1... hundred and forty dollars (totaled-- not all from one person)
~ PS3 (with 2 controllers, Spiderman 3 on blu-ray, and the latest Ratchet and Clank-OMG!)
~ ... and, the gift of the year (in my opinion), a new CD/MP3 player ('cause my old CD player ist tot)

And I still have more to look forward to cuz my birthday's on the 28th! I'm still sorta stumped on what to do for the party, though. It's my 18th so I wanna do something special but my irl friends are sorta diverse and don't all like the same thing. The one idea I came up with was a snow blower, but it turns out renting one of those is about $600 more than we can afford. Erg. So do y'all have any ideas maybe? The help would be greatly appreciated.

Mom's bugging me to watch the Bourne Identity with her (we've already had our fill of christmas movies) so I gotta get off now. Hope you had/have (depending on when you read this) a Merry Christmas! Or Happy Hanukkah! Or Joyous Kwanzaa! Or a good whatever-else-you-do-this-time-of-year. I'll finish updating later.

----------------------------------

I'm back! I didn't think it fair to leave you just with a list. Rather dull, no? XP

Anyhoo, probably the best thing so far this holiday season was the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar. A bunch of local artisans set up stands in a large room in the convention center downtown and it's amazing. My favorite stand was one set up like a library. All the books hand handmade paper and were bound in supple leather. They were all really expensive though-- the cheapest ones were little 5 by 3's and they were forty bucks each!

Another good stand was selling metal figures that looked like a rural steampunk met Da Vinci. There were dragons and flying machines, all beautifully crafted out of copper.

There was one stand though that was selling paintings and drawings. A painting caught my eye and I went over to look. The second I entered the stand the shopkeeper wouldn't stop watching me, like I was going to break or steal something. That pissed me off so I made sure to take a good long look at everything in the shop, just to make him sweat. When I left I smiled and told him "Merry Christmas!". He didn't smile back.

Poor Evan (youngest brother) got sick today. He sleeping right now in the nook under the stairs so it's easier to keep an eye on him. It must suck to be sick on Christmas. I hope he feels better soon.

Well, that about wraps it up for what's happening here, so I'll answer last week's questions.

Yojimbo: Depends on where he is. If he's right out my door, I'm his biggest. If he's not, I'm still a pretty big fan as a precaution.

timechaser: It changes around a lot, but currently my favorite book is The Thief. It's about... well, I think you can guess.

I'm not going to post any questions for you this time folks (except for the one at the tippy top there). So, until next time, please simply follow rule number four ladies and gentlemen-- Rock out and have fun!

See y'alls!

Yeah, uh... I don't really have a name for this post. ^_^;;
Hey, everyone. My fuse is running just a tad short right now. You've had your warning so anything that happens from this point forward is your own dang fault. Meaning you don't get to be offended if you bug me and I blow up in your face. Just thought I'd get that out of the way. Now on to happier stuffs.^^

I'm finally applying for another job. I quit my last one 'cause of school and stuff, but now, looking at my bank account... yeah. I need a bigger source of income than a monthly allowance. Especially if I'm gonna go to college. The current target is Costco. The people there generally seem to be happy and conversational and they probably don't pay bad. I'd only be able to work weekends which is a definite downside however. Oh, and I probably won't get my first paycheck until after Christmas, so it's folded pieces of paper with pretty pictures all around this year. Ahg....

Yesterday was a bunch of fun. I went to this singing thing at the local library-- but that wasn't the good part. The hour of Ultimate Frisbee we played afterwards was. For those of you who don't know what that is (which is probably all of you) I'll explain the basic rules. The point is to score a touchdown in the endzone on the other side of a field. Players throw a frisbee back and forth between each other to achieve this. The person holding the frisbee can't move except to pivot on a chosen foot. Now, generally the only real hazard to deal with, aside from the other team, is wind, which of course there's always plenty of here. However, our chosen field posed a few more problems in the shape of several waist high trees and a huge gazebo, plus it was cold and rainy, leading to numb hands an much loss of foot control. "How the heck was it fun, then?!" you ask? Simple-- the game was intense. I ran more in that hour than I probably had all month. We were one point behind the other team, having caught up from a five point deficit, when we were forced to quit. And there's nothing like a tough game to get to know people you just met.

Dan found the charger. I didn't neccesarily choke him with it (though I thank you for the suggestion, timechaser. It made my day), but he won't be loosing it again anytime soon. *creepy happy grin*

Um, well I can't think of any thing else. So then, questions!

1.There's a wocket in my pocket. What the heck should I do with it?

2.What would you really do for a Klondike bar?

3.Any questions for me?

Good God, Girl! Where Have You Been?
Eh heh heh, well...

We'll start with the more recent events, I suppose.

We got a puppy!!! Her name's Celia and she's a... a... she's an i-dunno-what. Mum and Dad've told me plenty of times but I can never remember. Some kinda mix, I think. She's fairly intelligent even though in the now five hours we've had her she's thrown up on my brother, peed on the carpet, and pooped by the watercooler. I can see this is gonna be fun. -_-;

Mum's been sick for about a week and a half now, though today she was feeling good enough to help choose which puppy. We've been having take-out or my fresh from the prepared frozen bag/box in the freezer cooking a lot lately as a consequence. It's not so bad actually-- most of it tastes better than what she normally cooks. Remind me to tell y'all about the first time she use the grill. (Ack! Now that wasn't nice of me, was it? XP)

The school up the street had it's winter fair last saturday. The tickets this year were a buck a piece! Stupid inflation. I suppose it's okay though because everything was a bit better done this year than it had been in the past. There were a bunch of people there I hadn't seen in ages, including someone who'd moved to Brazil in sixth grade. It took forever for us to recognize each other. A friend I was with, Sawyer, had to point him out to me. I also made another big discovery in that there are actually anime fans there now! When I was there there were only a few girls who were in to strictly shoujo stuff (really not up my alley), but these guys wathced stuff all over the board! We would've spent more time talking about it but most of it would've flown well over Sawyer's head so we refrained to the occasional excited outburst. Overall, a very good day.

Uh, let's see... anything else? Hm... Oh, I watched all of Full Metal Panic and Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid this weekend (yeah, I'm slacking off again) and am currently on the lookout for a subtitled version of FUMOFFU. All I can currently find are RAW's and spanish subtitled versions and if the dvd's are out I don't have the money to get them.

Last item: My brother lost the charger for my laptop. Grrr. And there's no other way to charge this thing so once it's batteries drain that's it, ka-poof, the end, and I'll be vying for time on the main setup. God dangit, Dan.

Well, that's it for now. Until n-- oh wait! Questions!

1. Multiple choice!: Pirates or ninjas?
~a. Kage Bunshin no Justu! *megapoof* Does that answer your question?
~b. Two specials on Mythbusters! Take that, ninjas!
~c. Oh gawd-- not this question again!

2. Roleplay: Your not cosplaying as anybody, and as far as you can tell you don't look like any anime character, so what's with all the fangirls/boys after you!? What does our hero do?

3. Genius by birth, *blank* by *blank*. (And you better not put "birth by sleep" there. I will pwn you.)

Well, that's all for this evening, folks! Until next time, this is your host, 2short, saying "Good night and good luck."

Dum-dee dum dum dum (I'm avoiding doing my homework)
School is hell. Hell is school. In the dictionary they should be put down as synonamus. Look up school and there'll be a line that says "Also see: HELL", and vice versa for hell's entry.

Why is it hell? Because I can't do anything else. I've got six sections of pre-cal, four essays I'm supposed to be writing, which doubly sucks as they're like my achiles heel in school, along with art, readings, and physics homework. I'm gonna die.

But enough of how crappy school is-- I can only stay emo so long right now. I am also happy for several reasons right now. One: The video I sent to Kei got chosen for the Otaku Atraction!
Two: We're going to Red Robin for dinner tonight!
Three: This awsome movie some guy (not to be confused with the person on this site with the same name) pulled up during physics class-- the only class keeping me sane.

*prays the video will embed*
*it doesn't*
*bangs head against keyboard*
gybhvbubguyjkhiubhjfvguybuh78y7878bhgt8y7gbugt4g67bhu

I've also started writting yet another story. I'll see if I can link it up once I've really got it going. Do any you remember a B-grade I think Disney movie from about a year ago called Sky High? It sorta loosly based on that.
Really loosly.
So loosly that the only real similarities are a something like a school for super heros exists, and yes you have ot take a flying bus to get there. That's it. The story line is completely different-- that is to say, un-Disneyish and more anime like. Curently I'm calling it Six Feeet Under the Clouds, but that's only until I come up with a better name. If ya'll have any ideas please, please, please oh-please, oh-please, oh-please tell me. Arigatou!

Okay, now for responses to your comments! *looks 'em over* Only two? Aw... ^-^

Luna: Okay, I think I'll go for a GITS:SAC layout. Thanks for your help!

Okay, questions for the next time I get sick of doing homework:
1) Anyone else psyched about Halo3? *drinks gamer fuel and blows up some grunts*
2)Oh no! A surprise fangirl/boy attack! (depending on your gender) What do you do?
3)*poke*

Byes!

My Week of Isolation Is OVER!
. . . And my nine months of confinement have begun. T_T

. . . And my other grandparents are visiting. . . .

. . . And the homework is a "bit" more than expected. . . .

Implications of the Above:
School: You've been there- you do the math. (Pun! ^^)
Grandparents: Worse than siblings because you're not allowed to escape. Especially when they haven't seen you in two years and are obsessed with anything vaguely relating to the concept of "grandkids".
Homework: Fun is rendered inaccesable, made all the worse by grandparents using your time to pinch your cheek.

Okay- the tirade of complaints is now over. To the fun stuff!

. . . Fun stuff. . . Yeah, I'll have to get back to y'all on that. I think I'll have to answer your questions and comments instead.

Yojimbo: You must live in a big house, a mini mansion even.

Not exactly. My house is a bunch of concrete domes and going from dome to dome is like going from world to world. My room is also in the dome furthest from the one my grandma resides in and she likes her solitude.

Luna: Oh do you want a background to?

I'd love one except I can't decide on a theme.

Questions:
1. Horror stories about grandparents?
2. Horror stories about school?
3. Questions? Comments? Eulogies? Odes? Threats? 25x-1243=?

   Now What?
The halways of my house are silent. No heavy metal screams from my brother's room, no gunshots or stiff acting echo down from the video games upstairs. There's only me and the soft click of my typing.

And my cat meowing at me to let her out. Yeah, that kinda ruins the moment.

My mom and my younger brothers have taken off on a road trip to Denver. I'd be with them but there's somewhere I've promised to be on Wednesdays, and I'd miss it twice if I went on the trip, so I'm stuck at home. T_T

Any other relatives? Yeah, there's dad, but he's at work. My grandma (mom's mom) also lives with us, but she typically stays in a seperate area of the house, sorta like a guest house. So, essentially, it's just me.

Which brings me back to my original question: now what?

Other questions:
1) Have you ever been left alone for a week?
2) Have any of your grandparents ever lived with you, or you with them?
3) Minesweeper? Check this out: http://www.shoutwire.com/viewstory/86321/MINESWEEPER_The_Movie

Cut'n'paste if the link doesn't work. If you've ever played Minesweeper, this'll be one of the funniest things in the world.

Later. ^-^

   . . . .
The title says all. It's been quite a while since I've updated, so this might be a long post. How many weeks has it been again?

Okay, even though I'm kinda late sayin' this, I gotta say it anyway: Transformers rules. Forget old, worn out ogers, snap your wands in half (or at least get a new director), and it doesn't matter if pirates or ninjas would win because Transformers would then blast them all away. Nothing else out this year gets anywhere near it.
I didn't think it would be. When I first saw the teaser trailer in theaters, I laughed outloud. I felt for sure that a movie based of a cheesy old 80's cartoon (no offence to any 40-year-old nerds reading this) would be yet another one of this summer's movie mega-flops, destined to travel the same path many of the tryed and once true series have taken lately. Instead, it's this summer's saving grace (not at all to be confused with the new TV series of the same name).
After constant begging, I managed to convince my mom to take us (my family) to see it. Rave reviews and the later adds had changed my mind. So we bought our popcorn, sat down, and waited through the endless adds for the movie to start. When it finally did, we heard the first two lines and my mom looked at me like I was insane. "In the beginning, there was nothing. Then came the Cube. . . " A Cube?! Oh my god, you gotta be kidding. Thankfully, they didn't concentrate too hard on making the movie dramatic, allowing it to be what it needed to be, which was often hilarious. Nothing about it felt forced, like so many other movies are these days, trying so hard to be "THE #1 MOVIE IN AMERICA", or "THE BEST MOVIE SINCE (whatever)", or getting Ebert and Roeper's trademark "TWO THUMBS UP!", and many other proclamations that are practically screamed at you because of how many times they play their add. There were still resonating themes and hidden messages, but overall Transformers was what movies were originally about- entertainment and enjoyment, not agendas (wether for the greater good or not). Well done.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix is a different story (no pun intended). The current director's aim is simply to put the bare bones of the story on the screen, leaving those who haven't read the book confuzed, and those who have empty and unsatisfied. Becuase of this appraoch, much of the richness of the characters and their relationships to one another, one of the driving themes of that particular book, was lost and the movie ended up feeling more like a list of events than an actual story. The only character developement was about Harry, casting other very influential characters off to the side- even Ron and Hermione.
Not to say there weren't any good moments, such as Crookshanks trying to eat Fred and George's Extendable Ear or the spectacular fight between Dumbledore and Voldemort. But although Dolores Umbridge was played magnificently, and although Sirius became very close and dear to Harry, you just can't bring yourself to care. There's no hatred there for twisted Umbridge, nor any sympathy for the downtrodden Sirius. It's just another thing to go through to get to the movie's end.

Regretably (or luckily, depending on your view), I have seen no other movies lately and this is the end of the post. Ladies and gentlemen, good night, and good luck.

This Heart Should Be Red, Not Yellow. . .
Hello. Tis been a while.

Good news: I finally have Photoshop and will be able to upload some of my drawings finally. That should make Roae-chan happy.

Well, after nearlly a month of nonstop rain it's finally lightened up. Maybe it's gone of to some place that needs it like Georgia, Minnesota, or Lake Chad 'cause here in Texas, we're certainly sick of it. There's been floods everywhere. Floods. In Texas. The normally dry creekbed in my backyard had whitecrests in it. Town Lake has been closed off. A couple of dams in Marble Falls broke and there were evacuations. They got 18 inches of rainfall in one night actually. Hopefully, in a few months we will have gone back to the normal state of perpetual drought and the rest of the world will once again be squelchingly wet.

Oh snap, never mind. I hear thunder. We're not out of this yet. *sigh*

I've finally gotten a part time job-- or at least a paying job. A guy in a wheelchair the next neighborhood over is moving and needs help packing. The fun bit about this is he's a survivalist, meaning he's convinced the country's gonna go to Hell in the next couple of years and he's stocked up on all sorts of things: food, water, fuel, even guns. I don't know how many cases of ammo I've had to move bot there are at least five suitcases with about 2000 rounds of AK-47 ammo each that I can't budge they're so heavy. Yes, I did say AK-47 and yes they are legal as they are only semi-automatic, not fully automatic. And, at least so far as I know, he's never fired the one he has. He even let me hold it (unloaded of course). But maybe I should stop creeping some of the more sensitive of you out now.

After all that, I feel I should sign out on a happier note. How 'bout this: I'm in my final week of summer school and driver's ed! In a week I'll finally be able to experience the true summer! Yay!

Finally, my eternal love to those who can translate this:
"Auta miqula orqu!"
PM me if you figure it out.

Later taters!

Jus' Felt Like It. . .
Had to fake I was eighteen today. It wasn't anything real big or major, I just had to sign for a package (which happened to be our newly fixed 360). Still it's kinda fun. It was my dad who actually proposed the idea. Yeah, my parents asked me to fake my age. Gotta love my family.

Saw Roae-chan for the first time in ages. We saw Pirates three at the Alamo Draft House, which, incidently, is THE best movie theater in America. Don't believe me, go ask Entertainment Weekly-- they're the ones who dubbed it so. Not only do they serve you real, yes real, food (which means cooked by professional chef's, not heated by lethargic, acne-ridden teens) in your seat (they also have a decent sized collection of wines and beers), they feature special events such as Princess Bride Quote~Along's, Strongbad Sing~Along's, Hobbit Feasts, the limited showings of many anime, and are bringing a 120 foot tall, car eating, fire-breathing DinoRobo to the opening of the Transformers movie. Oh, they also sell custom t-shirts. I've got a glow-in-the-dark Dark Mark one from the Goblet of Fire. That's how totally badass this theater is.

But it's only here in Austin! (suckers!)

I also started driver's ed today. On one hand, I finally get to learn how to drive. On the other hand, I have learn how to drive. Learn. LEARN! . . . Catchin' my drift yet? I'm soooooooo sick of school. . . . And then there's allt he forms but I don't want to complain too much. I am getting to drive after all.

Random note: made it to 100 posts today.

Finally, eternal love to anyone who can understand this phrase:
"Auta miqula orqu!"

Where'd All the Good Anime Go?
Browsing around earlier today, I decided to give Sangome's profile a look. Posted on it was a rant about how there wasn't really any good anime on currently. Frankly, she's got a point.

There are probably some of you (or not, since I seem to be catering to a rather small audience) now yelling that's not true and indignately gushing insults at my blatant indifference for your favorite show while composing the sharpest arguments against my, and several other people's, theory. I calmly ask you to put that aside for a moment and listen to all I have to say before you aim your blowing top at my face.

Naruto. Once upon a time, the show had a fairly respectable name. Then came the Narutards, people who obsess over the show as much as a rabid fangirl does over her favorite bishie. Now it's turned into much like what Pokemon was a few years ago. Personly, Ilike the manga and think the show is okay, but since the fandom has been completely trashed, a lot of the fun has been ruined for me.

Bleach. Yet again, I like the manga, but am having problems with the anime. Many of the shows have a streched feel and tend to come off as overly dramatic. Yes, I know the slow pace is there on purpose, but that doesn't keep me from rolling my eyes at the broken, halting lines or how long it takes Chad to attack the one captain. No offence to anyone, but though it started off great, it's fallen flat on it's back.

There are a few other shows on basic cable, chiefly on Cartoon Network, notables being Blood+ and the latest Pokemon. But what's really lacking is the next big phenomenon, like Cowboy Bebop, Sailor Moon, or Fullmetal Alchemist. Most of the anime on now only appeals to specific audiences (naruto= mainly kids, Blood+= older, possibly vampire fans). Anime has reached the same lull american movies find themselves in-- lots of decent and okay movies, but nothing absolutely everyone, including the bum one the corner, has seen and loves. So, no offence to any large fans out there, but your show does not rock the world.
